like in general? I just only spend resources when they’re going to make a significant difference in rewards. So early game I held onto most of my engrave mats and sig items and crammed hard so I could push at like 150 -170 deficit with suboptimal teams. Then I saved up a lot of engrave mats and SG for months while I was waiting for the CR meta to settle after it was first introduced. Then when TS rewards got bumped I went all in on TS instead while still leaning towards heroes with multiple uses.

I only sg or hero choice pull when I have a good chance of ascending and fully building the hero (309e60 usually) pretty much right away. I usually have more than 10 red furniture cards at any given time and I try to save up like 200k Poe and then decide what to spend them on.

Usually I build up like 3 or 4 e60s worth of cores and then SG/TG/hero choice for whatever is OP and in the heroic ship and then I spend most of my Poe and my cores and emblems etc at once

Henry hit the nail on the middle part. Ex. You want to have at least 600-700 SG pulls (Diamonds + SG) before going for a hero. Same with Awakened, you want 450-500 Time cards before pulling.

If you do not do that and let say you start to pull for a hero now with like 50 SG or Time cards, by the time you ascend it, maybe a new super broken awakened/celehypo will be released and you will either have to finish ur current hero or put it on hold and half build another hero

That first part is interesting, early game is really different than when I started!

I don't think most new player should hold that much cores or other resources to invest in the heroes, but it is important to be minimalist and NOT overinvest
