Depends on who you have currently at 12, if the good ones like Moth, Owl, Blade, Talis are at 12, you can wait and build up spices to send a pet to 15 (like owl/seal). Also, you could get some of these to 12, and not trigger resonance (any pet over lvl 9 other than the 6 already on crystal will give spices on triggering reso) until you are satisfied with the spices you have for a lvl 15 pet
