Thoughts on Vei va Cruke (for wukong swap)? Overall I’ve heard better things about Vei, but don’t know much about their usage (e.g. what comps/investments do they work with) and value.

Both are very good I would say vei slightly over cruke only bc of cr having more subs for cruke generally than for vei and vei makes a bigger difference in the cr comps he's in

Vei is a tanky dps who can actually be a good secondary carry if lets say your athane trips and dies as he sometimes does

Cruke groups enemies, cc, reduces their energy, has damage reduction and a cheat death so he's good for keeping the enemies either over THERE away from your carry or for pairing with carries that like constant cc like abaden

Vei likes burst and athane

Cruke likes abaden and asolise

Vei I believe needs more invest to actually start doing shit while cruke can work at M30

Thanks for the detailed response, this is exactly what I was looking for! The “Vei likes burst/ Whane, Cruke likes Wolise” is the only part that’s making me second guess my choice —- I have Wolise built, and unlikely to get Whane any time soon. Also don’t have Zol or Zaph for classic burst.

Still, based on the rest of the discussion (and @toxic prawn ‘s point about meta proof), sounds like Vei is the better choice.

Plus based on first cycle, he at least has some known use is NMC, and he’ll help unblock Cele tower progression for me, which is stalled.

There's differential scoring based on the distance of adversaries. That means if your teams improve, you climb fast enough to test around quite a bit. I tend to stabilize most teams in the last 2 days, and that's still pretty conservative

Takeaway might be the same, i.e. if you tanked your score with testing, you’ll fight relatively weaker people and climb back faster. But it’s still still a small risk to take depending on when you do the testing. Day 2/3 seems low enough risk, but given high rng during those days, I’m not sure if testing is informative…

You'll match with people in your range mostly, but you will have outlier matches against people way above and way below - and if you win against the people way above, you get a bundle of points but don't seem to lose as many on a loss, where-as if you lose against below, you'll get hit really hard but won't get as many points on a win. Which ends up evening out a lot of people's points in the long-run.

Yeah, it's all in motion, the later you test, the higher the risk and more precise information you get. I won't test all my 4 teams at once, but testing 2 out of 3 and 1 out of 4 seems like a decent spot in the first week

They're usually - Raku eats his orange, LDV tries to stun the enemy team, Raku then starts hitting everyone who's tagged. If the cc goes well and people get stunned, Raku starts popping off. If enemies are cc immune or hit LDV out of position by making him jump before he fires his cannons, then Raku doesn't know what to do.

Sometimes having secondary CCers or having a team that can chain-cc together against tankier teams can help him perform more reliably but it doesn't help if the enemy team or even just their carry ignores cc. They then tend to rip through the team.

The more heroes who are cc immune in the enemy team, the worse Raku performs. And if Raku gets jumped, he also tends to fall apart.
