You were not aware of Oden serving Dark Star Realm's "sleeping king"? It's another case of bad translation or should I say the worst one. I kept mentioning Oden's shitty translation once in awhile for over a year since Morael's lore came out and his lore in cn started making sense. ... if you haven't read oden's cn lore, I suggest you to read it again and ignore its eng counterpart.

The first book is split into about 40 pages of timeline/lore, followed by one page each for each chapter art (up to around 38) with the little copy pasted lore from the game, then a bunch of lore for each faction (that I think is copied from the first section in parts). Then there’s the union stories, followed by a bunch of cosmetic stuff (frames, stickers, badges etc) and at the end concept art for npcs

The second book is like 200 pages of copy pasted hero stories and portraits, then a bunch of concept art.

Unfortunately not.

There’s a lot of stuff I wish was in here that they omitted. Boss lore is a big one. Also, in the game signature items, gear and furniture all have flavor text, but that goes completely unmentioned anywhere. Gear and furniture are just sorta pasted there

The main 7 artifacts get some lore, indirectly, but I don’t think the class exclusive ones are even shown anywhere…

It’s hard to pinpoint exactly when the book went into production. The latest hero is from July (Titus) but there are some odd omissions given that. AE boss Ezizh is absent, for one. Also, though the 4 anniversary skins are shown, Dolly’s and the anniversary furniture theme are absent. Plus Desira (and Thali)’s designs aren’t their final ones

Also, I’m just realizing, I don’t think Grotesque Mage is here at all

I want to mention that this may not necessarily be about Samuel. The book talks about the founding of the SSotC and the imperial family backing them, but in the years 1525-1546. There’s strictly no way to know if the connection to the king has continued for the last 150 ish years

As an aside, found a weird discrepancy on dates. The book puts the burning down of the violet orphanage by scarlet as happening 19 years ago, but Dolly’s Corner said scarlet herself was 19 years old. Guess she burned it down when she was a wee fetus

Another observation about dates: the book puts the modern period (present day in the game) as 1701-1703. The book says Baden died in 1687, and Dolly’s corner implies he died ~13 years ago, so I guess DC’s info is dated more to 1701 than anything more “current”

Still doesn’t explain Scarlet though.

It could be that:

1. Afk writer lost track of keeping the timeline consistent
2. "The present" is loosely based on the event in that specific piece of lore. And the provided ages of the heroes are only based on their physical appearance as you see in the game.
