What I'm saying is that the inconsistency in this version does not make the forked term retroactive. Arachnid is the general family, Arachin is obviously referring to the specific Mauler tribe.

Even though "Arachnid" was also used in the original instead of the newer, more specific word.

This is what I'm absolutely positive happened:
• CN Ankhira: "They're the arachnid folk."
• Inexperienced EN team: "That's not a cool name for a tribe. Let's switch it up a bit. Let's call them, hmm, Arachin." (Note the capital letter.)

• CN: (later refers to relatively normal spiders, using same word as general descriptor)
• EN: (uses the common noun instead of the proper noun because they're just describing what these things are, not naming them)

I got a good question regarding the lore of Oden. Had a hypothesis that made me think that's he's actually Cecilia's Husband rather then Edward. It would make sense that he was a mage who was a good man who simply wanted to increase his knowledge in terms of magic including Necromancy until he was found out and got killed by a cult who were not very friendly towards this mage looking my for knowledge perhaps to attack them in a future backstab. This is when Cecilia goes full rage mode while her husband was revived by the Graveborns.

Not sure at least is what I thought and seems plausible that maybe Cecilia didn't know he was into these dark casting spells and all. Makes sense why she wants to purge all sinners.

Dark magic originates from the dark void realm which is featured in Morael's lore. Oden was killed by the inquisition for studying this dark magic. Safiya also learned dark magic.
