We can classify hypogean into different Categories since hypogeans just mean demon in general. The ones that were born out of annih's flesh and blood could be considered original hypogeans. But then there are some other hypogeans that are not annih's underling like ezizh and zolrath. And then there are also hypo that serve Gouldos who came from the void realm such as Khazard.

Also although Oden is in gb faction, in reality he is neither a pure gb or a hypo. And he doesn't serve Lord Quaedam but a master lurking in the void realm.

Also I have posted the cn lore about the celestial's origin quite sometimes ago. In that piece of lore it classifies celestial into different Categories as well. Basically those who were created by the god of creation Honas are considered "original god". And then there are also gods who are originally human, plant or rock.

Well the well of Annihilation is the barred gate, and it stays that way in every cn lore. In this piece of lore, it's not called Barred gate but Infernal Surge. And cn text seems to differentiate between god and demigod pretty clearly; whereas, in eng lore it's not that clear

It seems to me like the Infernal Surge is referring to the event rather than the location.

You know, so we don't have to say "the second Hypogean invasion" all the times.

Sort of like "the Evil Seed" event in the SoulCalibur series; the point Soul Edge reawakened and kickstarted all the characters' backstories.

And I've never heard "surge" used as a noun, except when referring to electric current. (Or something similar like life energy or emotions or whatever.)

And if you're talking about the Dark Forest... you know, the place where the Bounty Board and the Arena and the King's Tower and the Peaks of Time are?

The English translation screws a lot of things up, yeah, but it's nowhere near as bad as it used to be.

And as for Peggy/Petra, the JP version says "Peggy."
It seems to me like you're having the perception of unfaithfulness because pre-existing inaccuracies are being corrected.

As for gods/demigods, the distinction seems to be referring to the Celestials as being a lower rank of divine than, say, Dura/Annih.
Only a couple of them are former mortals or descended from mortals. Which is what the literal definition of a demigod is.

And that's counting Athalia, who was a victim of one of the "creative liberties" in the early translations. The number is still low even considering that.

It's even lower if you don't count her.

Often ones that transfer directly into English much better than the equivalent terms in Chinese. (e.g. "Savagehorn" may be omitted in the English version, but サベージホーン (sabējihōn) is clearly an English-related name.)

We actually have no idea what Esperia's afterlife looks like. The closest we've seen is their equivalent to Limbo.

Like, Vurk and Numisu are almost always thrilled to see each other, as are Vurk and Skreg.

Let's go back to brutus lore and reconfirm something which we have been debating. It's about the lb swordman in brutus lore.

Many of us in here thought the lb swordman was not thane, but someone else like Hogan... but with the top secret poster about thane, it prettt much confirms that thane is indeed the lb swordman appeared in brutus lore

The only thing to take note is that the battle in brutus' lore is not the same battle in thane and baden's lores. It happens when thane is already a one arm fodder hero.

I have an oc idea, but im not sure what to put her faction as, bc basically shes a wilder by blood but she grew up in kuilin city and has lived amongst lightbearers all her life

My Fuma would choose to still live among Maulers if she weren't exiled (and on the run), but even if she could get her wish there, she'd still be Graveborn.

And then there's Wu Kong, who does hang out with Maulers most of the time but is still a Celestial.

Im still not sure, bc her character is that her parents were immigrants from a wilder village after it was invaded by hypos and they went to live in kuilin where my oc would eventually grow up to be a very wealthy fasion designer

But yeah, this is an interesting situation to think about. Factions don't usually live in each others' territories because of how much nationalism and racism goes on between them.

The wilders and lightbearers have foreign exchange students so i thought her character would show a good meaning of the connection between the two civilizations

And part of her lore is that it was relatively hard for her to establish her wealth since she faced many troubles sourced from the fact she was a wilder, racism basically

Yeah. There is still some animosity between them. Raku and Pippa have both look down on Lightbearer society at least once despite the former being best buds with the Lightbearer princess and the latter going to school with them.

But the question of which faction to put this character in is a very good question.

Anyway, a similar situation I've wondered about is what would happen in the case of a half-blood and what faction they would go in.

Factions as a whole are... the nature of how they work and what separates them isn't too clear.

Maulers and most (but not all) Wilders are a race called the Ya, who were created by human alchemical experiments but split from each other millennia ago due to political differences.
And the Ya are part-human, so a half-blood would probably be possible.

This did happen millennia ago, so they don't CURRENTLY have that motive, but there's still a lot of cross-factional tensions.

I have a question about the Graveborn though.
I know they are dead and all, and it might be a stupid question... But would their organs work at all?
I mean, they technically don't need to eat anymore, but since (in some pictures and fanart where it's shown) they are depicted eating and drinking.
So would their body still be alive somehow?

It's a bit inconsistent.
It is established that they have no sense of touch or taste anymore, but this numbness is sometimes incomplete (like in Desira's case).

In the case of Shemira, her last feeling, was sadness, which explains why she as a Graveborn, still cries and wails, as stated from dolls corner.
And in the instances or both Niru and Shemira, they both loved their son and each other, which still is consistent as Graveborn.

Also, Daimon still feels physical pain even though the lack of pain is supposed to be one of turning Graveborn's main benefits.
