I am still an ardent believer in the catalyst character theory, where some 4Faction characters who were added before an awakened character had some kind of relation to them and/or their awakening.

So with Villainelle being added today and her having a loose relation to the Quicksand Claws, I was wondering whether it could hint to us who the Mauler awakened could be.

The existing characters with ties in one way or another to the Quicksand Claws are Antandra, Satrana, Kren, Thali, Thesku and Walker if I am correct. (Additions and corrections welcome.)

Or that’s just a red herring because the Quicksand Claws are the generic villain for like half of the bad things happening in Mauler territory. 😂

Yeah I think there’s a weird divide between male Maulers being all VERY animalistic and the females having one with stronger animal traits and then one with more human traits. 😵‍💫
Wilders have a similar issue, it seems. Although there at least male and female characters get the humanized-treatment more equally.

Maybe you can voice your disagreement about the recent design direction in the next player survey as soon as it comes around? ☺️ You are certainly not the only one who would prefer more animalistic female maulers.

That or it's the same like, way the Celestials & Hypogeans tried to use them as weaponry (only mildly more successful since Liberta & Lucilla were babies at the time and generally had no proper decision making skills yet)

in my own personal opinion,

the twins were supposed to be new deities to possibly replace Dura & Annih (a powerful baby girl & a powerful baby boy, both siblings, is a very fun coincidence to think abt, esp w the small theme of importance in siblings & twins in celestials) so humans could control the gods (since they were like in their god hater era)
these man-made gods would usurp the celestials & create a world controlled/dictated by humans

but since the Celestials interrupted, Lucilla & Liberta didn’t fully get to enter those roles so they got boxed instead and put into stasis

But thats my general theory , i don’t think its anything official

The comic actually reminded me of something I wondered about earlier when Shinbaki posted AAntandras Designs.

Her spear looks remarkably similar to Hildwin‘s spear. Is it his? Or just another spear with Draconic powers, hence the similarities?

If it were his this would be VERY weird because we still have him active in our game where he wields the spear so it would contradict him and Antandra being in the same party. 🤔

If it is his spear, I’d imagine it might be a spear from his clan specifically since it looks similar. I forget the specific wording, but I’d imagine if theres different clans/communities united under a singular name (the Draconis) then there has to be similarities that would pop up between and inside those clans/communities.

Perhaps this is a spear that came from Hildwin’s specific clan/community/tribe and that’s why it’s so similar? It’s not his specific spear, but it is a spear from the specific group of people he represents within the Draconis

Yeah, as far as I understood that part, each Draconis can only give Draconis Gems ONCE in a lifetime, and from the JP version I understand that ||Hildwin is evaluating Antandra as a possible bearer of his covenant||. the idea behind this Awakened Izold is that Silas was experimenting with creating their own elemental relic for the kingdom of bantus, but unfortunately couldnt get the thing to work...until it got the attention of the corrupters. Izold would be the one fighting but despite their sustain couldnt actually take the corrupters down until they ran out of Silas's concoctions, so in a last ditch effort to save Silas they drew power directly from the heart of a corrupter beast, which created awakened Izold

though I am certainly not an expert when it comes to the game or its balance and am very biased lol

from what i’ve seen(?) at least, certain draconis seem to follow a color palette if theyre highborn (ie Gwynneth gets white, Hildwin has orange, Lan is blue, so on and so forth)

there is a moon-like draconis highborn though, so i wonder if that might have connection with.. random background dude(?)

I feel the L&L twins + LuZap are the highest chances of receiving this honor bc it makes sense story-wise

but I place L&L slightly higher and some of it Might Be Bias, but the most of it is:

• Storywise, they’ve already been implied to have a little bit of both in them

• The Cradle of Truth is still a way for these two to receive a power-up, though it might take a bit of time for things to be opportune again to use it

• Liberta descending & Lucilla ascending opens up a slightly interesting conversation and conflict between the twins that can push parallels with Dura & Annih (give me a inch i make a fanfic idea /hj /j)

• LuZap are a bit too stubborn in their respective factions. While Zaphrael is coming around.. slowly(?), he’s not to a point where he’d fully 110% betray the Celestials & Lucretia is very much still neck-deep in her pain, hatred, and is subsequently blinded by it, only made worse by the hypogean twins I presume

Crackpot theory FOR LuZaph: they were super prominently featured in the Order & Chaos cinematic which started the cycle of series 3 Awakeneds. (Which is why I also believe that Eironn will be this cycle‘s Wilder awakened.)

Are the newer awakened heroes based on the Draconis? Most of em seemed connected to the Corrupters but I havent seen anything about them in the recent few

its been a minute since I was pondering the lore (stopped back when Awakened Talene was relased iirc) and Ive only really caught up with the GB characters

So series 1 Awakeneds + Belinda and Maetria are all connected to the greater story around the corruptors which had its finale with the Maetria release.

The remaining series 2 Awakeneds were not connected by a bigger story - at least it doesn’t seem like it so far.

In Series 3, Gavus and Eugene are connected to the War of Truth story around Lucilla and Liberta, BUT in the recent comic for awakened Antandra there is one person who only appeared in their lore so far - ||Kadrin the Dwarven Bombardier ||- who takes an important role, so MAYBE they are part of something bigger.

Lucius seemed to be standalone again, but in Antandra’s comic it was more prominently revealed that his new Sword and Shield signature weapon is actually imbued with Draconis Gems. (Which seems to have been in the description of his Signature Item even before the comic as well, but I never realized it before. 🫣)

Antandra got the gift of Draconis Gems from Hildwin which ends up being her signature spear. In the comic it’s also revealed that apparently each Draconis Elder can only gift one instance of Draconis Gems to a mortal which leads me to be very convinced that the other four Elders who exist will each be some kind of catalyst for another awakened hero. But that’s just my theory, anyway. Could be very wrong.

But I‘m really hoping that we‘re getting bigger, interconnected stories between heroes again. I really enjoy these and I feel that was neglected a bit in series 2.

• Zaph & Lucretia were somewhat separate for a while, Zaph’s views on justice were shaken a little too because the situation with Lucretia was extremely grey & what happened to her was unjustified

• during the barred gate, iirc this is some time after Lucretia became a hypogean, Lucretia & Zaph ultimately ended up clashing once again and Zaph made the decision to throw them both into the barred gate (which i… believe seals them/is a sacrifice)

god its been so long i’ll have to recheck their story at some point but this is like… what i vaguely remember LMAO if that helps

So since there are various ways how Celestials come to be and one being that a mortal is ascended for their deeds, maybe Draconis Gavus died while on his journey and was ascended to a Celestial.
