   Ulima choose the enemy who did the most damage until now ,  she suck out the soul of enemy and freeze the enemy in void . The victim cannot move and the soul  can use basic attacks . The soul only can be attacked by ulima and takes extra magic damage from ulima , if the soul die during this skill, the enemy dies too .
   Ulima will not use her other Skills during this time and only attack the soul severed enemy .ulima can't use this skill for several seconds after casting it even if she has full energy.
   2)void shift field
   Ulima creates a medium circle at the place which have the most enemies, if the enemies step in the circle an illusion of the enemy will summon behind him , attacking it . The illusion can only attack their own original enemy, and will die after certain attacks of enemy .
   If the enemies move further than some point the illusion fade away and enemy will freezes in time for 2 seconds .

3)illusion orbs
Ulima basic attacks now trun into magical orbs with deals extra damage. Ulima can use this skill when attacking the soul severed enemy,  and deals extra damage to them with this kind of attacks .
This attack can be used even when ulima is silenced.
4)ultimasphere
At the start of each battle ulima creates a small sphere around her for 20 seconds.  that can protect allies that are in circle too .
While in sphere she cannot be attack by enemies and only take damage from Skills.
Enemies who step in the sphere will be slowed . If she is on her soul severed skill enemies cannot target her and she is immune to disables during soul sever skill while she is in sphere.
The allies can only be protected from basic attacks of enemies.

Ulima haste increased while she is in ultimasphere.

Actually soul sever skill make the enemy more vulnerable for ulima , the lore which I'm writing explains that ulima in not from matter universe , she is made of Ultima which is a mixture of light, Void and other electromagnetism waves
That's why she is the only one that can attack soul severed enemy, when she soul sever an enemy she enter the enemy into Ultima universe whereas the enemy is weaker and is made of Ultima , so that's why yhe enemy cannot use material things and other allies cannant attack it .
Her weapon is actually what makes her in touch with matter universe , she forms like a human,having clothes because of the weapon, she is like an energy in Ultima universe , she cannot talk , she can only make some waves with different frequency, she canny either hear! But she can see the ultima of enemies which is the primary material that made them , the Ultima state of the enemy is various , for example when the enemy is soul severed she state of Ultima comes really high that's why she only attacks the soul severed target because its .

For Skills :
Ultima can be a huge damage dealer if you put her in a huge cc and support team , she locks on a enemy , with sig item even fighting the enemies faster with illusion orbs, dealing damage to them .
The other role she can have is cc also . She literally soul severs the most damage dealer of enemy team, the enemy can only use basic attacks , which is a huge cc
Also her other skill which is called "void shift", make self illusion of enemies to fight them , she can control enemies to fight their illusion instead of your team, the only counter for this skill is enemies that can move like antandra , athahlia, ...... , which make the illusion fade away but also mini stun them .
Ultimasphere honestly is her best skill, it's a powerful one which even make the special better,Ulima is nothing without Ultimasphere,the duration of Ultima can be increased by killing enemies which makes her remain your carry until the end of the match,immune to disables make her really a beast
So what I can say she is a magic Canon if she build as a carry comp .
But earlier because she is hypogean is little bit hard to acsended, you can use her as a cc first .

She looks op on in paper but I have reasons to say not !
One of reason is that she is not immune to enemy skill which are aoe, she is untargetable enemies like nara cannot hook her ,but for example ainz, scarlet can easily kill her with aoe skills .
She also is immune to disables not other debuff !
Disables include stun, silence and freeze or anything similar .
So she can still getting knockback which can be a counter for her because she may be knock back outside of sphere .
But i think with right teams she can be really strong , she is also fun to use , her skill animation can be good

Yes, there are 2 versions of his lore in cn. The one you read in dolly's corner issue is similar to his in-game lore in cn. There are also another version floating on the web that is identical to the eng translation.

We dicussed this issue before. Lilith probably updated Lucius's lore with a newer version to reflect his character better, but never bother to do so with the eng lore, hence we see 2 different versions of his lores

but then for the elemental lore they have Baden show up suddenly remembering who he is and in control of himself. because it was never a conflict in the Chinese lore so they just decided not to resolve it in the English lore

but mauler lore is just much less popular, especially older mauler lore. Numisu? not exactly someone we regularly talk about here

most of the discrepancies are caught by either superfans who have read both versions or by players noticing mistakes in the English lore that can be explained if you know the Chinese lore

so it makes sense that no one has really talked about this until now

As for the Mauler Lore, I’m quite impressed and even more thrilled, because the usual portrait of them has become not “gloomy” within time, rather instead … well unknown is the best word due to the lack of popularity… No, popularity ,no, but connotations with other possible things.

Therefore, it could have been overlook many characters and certainly Numisu was one of them.

Besides this explains a lot why the lack of Maulers supports, or Seers, or Voodoo practitioners in the Maulers. And I can’t just say by his size, that Numisu is a Darri.

Rather what kind of twist would be me feasible to introduce new Mauler supports in the future. And btw, this is the first I went this deep to get knowledge of Lore, mainly because of Anasta and Brutus story that happened.

We don't see the majority of durri. We only see the exceptions because the average Durri wouldn't make a very effective party member.

• Vurk's adventurous personality is an anomaly.
• Skreg stayed behind until his brother coming back alive after stealing from someone that even Hypogeans are scared of inspired him, and even then he was hesitant.
• Drez didn't have a choice. It was either ignore his instincts or die right there.
• Kren is literally insane.

With my own OC, I tried to play her species's cowardice straighter.

the lore specifically describes how durri normally hunt and fight

and it's because they favour an ambush style instead of head to head confrontation that the other maulers consider them cowardly

but fighting even though you're scared of everything and figuring out how to adapt that to your strengths (cleverness) isn't cowardly imo, it's brave

I think this all tends to circle back on what defines cowardice and what Lilith really means when using that term, but I think this also relies a little on the nuance of the original phrasing in chinese, something that's very difficult to translate. Say, if they mean cowardice like "hardwired to shy away from dangerous situations aka. inability to face those fears", then that honestly makes a lof of sense, especially considering what's beneficial to the survival of their species.
And if a sense of fear is conditional based on the situation, and if their regular hunting methods doesn't trigger that, then cowardice can be used I guess, though I'd phrase it differently.
Although, are there anybody here familiar enough with chinese to shed light on that? I'm pretty curious myself.

Vurk snuck into the Arachin caves and stole venom from Ankhira. According to Skreg's story, the other durri assumed that Vurk had gotten himself killed doing something so, frankly, stupid. But then he came back unscathed. It was only then that Skreg started to venture out, figuring that if his little brother could be that brave then so could he, which is when he found his Ironjaw and all that.

Yeah, the Arachin are so good at laying traps and torturing people under Ankhira's rule that even the Hypos steer clear of them now.

Ankhira considers Vurk's success to be a personal insult and is trying to team up with Safiya to have him killed, which is where that Union comes from.

Skreg is probably the best character for examining what they mean, since he most represent the "typical" durri. I'm reading the machine translation, so take with a pinch of salt. It seems what he wanted to do, but couldn't due to his nature, was to face a situation head on with bravery/courage. Which is something he was only able to do when the steeljaw was threatened. That's also when the phrase "he didn't know where this courage came from" is used, which is interesting to me

Some things doesn't add up though. Gaius and Haelus are unrelated to Bonapei. That happened before the era of the man gods.
This takes place at the barred gate, and the sin mark is likely referencing the sin-bearers marked after the first hypogean war, which is much later than Gaius' time.
That aside, it could be an interesting awakening theme for the next cycle

in addition, there is an interesting phrase in the dialogue between tarnos and the old man (we will not specify who it is specifically):"You humans appease demons because of petty ambitions. You crave power that is not given to you!"
It was Gaius who was the first to rebel against the domination of the gods. the arcana era ended on it, and a new era began on it. the old man's phrase is "haha... Petty ambitions? Tell me, why do the gods enjoy eternal life, soaring above everyone else, and we humans have to put up with our mortal fate? Why are we born weak and powerless? What's wrong with the fact that we want strength to match our mind?" correlate very well with the fact that Gaius wanted to get divine immortality, or destroy the gods.
in addition, an important detail is the connection with hypogeance AFTER an unsuccessful connection with the gods. and this connection should be a flying ship (or perhaps even a whole fleet). the demons are at the bottom, and if Gaius could not get to the top (but rather could), then he could go down.
and what is needed for this? that's right-drill. which is on the eastern continent. there is an assumption that it was Gaius who opened the gate, then received the brand of Tarnos, and with it eternal suffering.
maybe he wanted to get their power to take revenge against the gods. we need specific data on how long it took from the moment of Gaius' death to the opening of the gate, if Gaius was dying at all.

We already have specific data on that in the lore book. It's more than a thousand years. Humanity did not achieve immortality, unless Lilith change their minds on that and decides Gaius somehow got that. Using a drill to reach the Hypogeans or open the barred gate makes no sense. Bonapei was caused by Uemiss, before the era of man gods, thus Gaius is not related to that. That's also in the lore book.

And Gaius was not native to Altor, but to Hathor.

i rescind my judgement, but im still tilted about them getting rid of ages

I still wonder who this guy is. With the connection to flora I thought maybe an early design for tarnos, but it still definitely looks more like zaphrael. it's definitely not zaphrael's current design though....

the weird part is that the flora dolly's corner came out directly before the zaph/lucretia dolly's corner, and in the comics for those he's just drawn normal. pretty sure the artist is the same too.

I only just learned that some of the other languages (Russian for sure, not sure about Japanese) base their translations on the english (eg mine) rather than on the Chinese source. So if there’s an issue in one, it’ll be replicated across the languages.

Perhaps a little unfortunately phrased, but I think they refer to the people outsourcing the translations and not the translators themselves.

Not necessarily speaking of people here, but I do think many in the community assume translations are an in-house job, and that the translators work closer with the devs than you actually do.

In the same vein as producers and marketing, writers, artists, code etc. gets lumped into the same "dev" group and when people rant about the "devs" they actually mean the producers rather than say, the writers. But sometimes people tend to treat them as one entity and not separate parts in a group. Idk if that makes sense, but that tendency has been irking me a bit

My problem was that when they first uploaded these pictures to twitter, the longer story was missing completely from the image. Compare the image €mbla posted to the one in the twitter post I linked. I was complaining about missing content, not quality of translation

For what it's worth, when I talked about carelessness in translation, I was talking about more what we used to see a couple years back. The stuff we've been getting more recently has been a lot more solid and fun to read (including the longer story now that we can see it). Definitely don't mean to disparage anyone's translation work, I know it's a tough gig

Spot on. Translation after lucr and zaph release has been much better and stay true to the original source. Before that, translators were basicaly adding their own idea to the translation.

Yeah. Those were also discussed in here thoroughly a long time ago. A theory that I came up with is that lores were rewritten and updated in the chinese version. The one thing the old translators seemed to want to get rid of the most is Dark Star Realm aka Void Realm. It is clear that the old translator intentionally get rid of any lore that mentioned Dark Star Realm as I have shared in here over the last 2 years

Nothing’s impossible, but I’m not sure they’d choose such a new character. So far Solise is the newest hero to get awakened, and she’s been out since February* 2020

Nah. That sounds completely impossible. Fire elemental guardian will be a completely new hero. Afk writer is good at executing the story plot, so fire guardian not being mentioned at all is something that was planned out from the start by the afk writer. Maybe he/she will be featured for the untold story plot of Uemiss breaking free from the deep ocean.

Pippa seems to generally call old men gramps/grandpa regardless of familial connection. There's a VoW way back where she calls an old man "gramps" as well. Also, familial names are frequently used to address non-related people in China, so it's likely just that.

Was it ever explained why the water Emblem wasn't in Seirus' possession. Eery other Elemental guardian was present when a hero was awakened so they could give it to them? If it was a gift to help the dark forest since the Wilders accepted him as their own (Yuexi Well), wouldn't he at least take it back when he fought Gouldos and travel an entire ocean. And he did that with Gorvo, his best mate. And lilith never touched up on that, but it was relevant to the lore since it officially (as far as i know) connected Khazard and Gouldos. Thinking about it now, Gorvo would have been a way better Awakened than Solise. He's actively connected to the Water Guardian, is more OG than Solise, heck he's been in the game longer than Rowan, hasn't really had a Meta era but he found himself useful in teams every now and then. And if Lilith chose to give the nature faction the water Emblem, a turtule with Wolverines claws and personality fused with Thors helmet and hammer would be my best pick. Sorry if this was long lol

Honestly, yeah. I originally had a Gorvo theory for this exact reason lol, but without Solise it would've been a 1:4 female:male awakened characters, and Solise is more popular.

I wish they'd done something with Seirus to at least involve him in the awakening story, as it feels a little to me like Lilith went ¯_ (ツ)_/¯

I can see why lilith want to deviate from the obvious choice of awakened heroes. It's not like lilith gonna stop releasing awakened heroes after the awakened gb gonna be released. So why not keep the interesting awakened heroes for the next iteration and releasing mediocre ones in between.

So geralt is a Witcher, a kind of monster hunting warrior that's hated and revered bc magic and science is used to change their DNA when they're kids so they're not human. There's different schools of Witchers and he's the school of the wolf. Witchers mostly do bounty hunting and merc jobs. Yenn is his on and off love interest who's part of a group of sorceresses who are so powerful they basically run several governments behind the scenes. In the Witcher 3 geralts adoptive daughter ciri is kidnapped and you have to go find her before the Wild Hunt does, which is a supernatural force looking to use ciri's magic blood for evil basically. Yenn works for one of the two factions of the civil war that's happening in the land you play in and you can romance her or a couple other sorceresses. It's a very good game I've played it like 4 times
