Against:
Its usually a mirror match which is won by placing your own Merlin across from enemy Ainz.

Thats outside of high end pvp comps I honestly dont know much about.
They are pretty much inaccessible anyway unless you are a very long time player or a spender.

You get fodders to L+ cause they can hit Lv160 level cap for RC and they're easier to pull. But they cap out at 160 so you'll need Mythic Heroes to bump that cap to 180

Shoving Heroes in RC ignores their level caps.

So basically, from a raw diamond point of view (aka if we make an evaluation in a vacuum) reds or juice is by far the most valuable from these events. Further, it is far harder to accumulate those two resources than other common resources such as silvers and golds, which is why all the guides say to do this. However, the guides were written based off principles from quite a long time ago, when early to mid game progression was still incredibly slow. In the modern state of early game and midgame, progression happens waaaaay faster, and as a result, the compounding factor of each power step has also taken a rather steep increase.

Stemming from aimb's work of contemporary progression theory, it is often worthwhile to make investments that may initially appear to be suboptimal (E.g. Foddering A tier heroes) in order to expedite the progression process in the earlier stages of the game, as the extra resources that you gain will snowball into more extra resources gained and will ultimately out balance the sacrificial investments you made.

As for whether to choose golds over reds in the magician hat event (well firstly you want to pick up call shards because 5* call is quite literally overpowered and game changing), it depends on the magnitude of impact it will make on your team, and how much faster you'd be able to progress from that upgrade. The amount of sacrificial investment that is worth making is completely subjective to the player (how much they min-max), their roster (how invested is their current team) and difficulty of further progression (how much further they can push given that additional boost).

If your team is relatively underinvested and believe you can push like a chapter or two more, than definitely go for the golds.

However if you stuck in like Ch33 with a solid team, and physically cannot push much more even if you got a huge boost, then it wouldn't be worth it. You have to be able to draw the line (which #classic-questions can definitely help you with).

This may be true but I don't think the amount of Red Chests gained from Events is heavily affected by your progression in-game even if a faster campaign progression increases your resource gain from other sources. From my own memory I didn't need Daimon SI until well after Ch20+. Assuming I needed them around Ch22 it's around 3 chapters' worth of time to accumulate Gold Emblems alongside the ones you've accumulated from Tavern Rewards, should probably be enough for your first SI20 if you buy more from the Store at least once a day. I find it a lot easier to gain Silver and Gold Emblems nowadays and find myself sorely lacking Red Chests, being F2P and all.

Not railing against you but I'm speaking from my own experience that I find investing into Red Chests hurts less than the instant gratification of Gold Emblems given the difference in obtainability

Oh I think you misunderstood me. I'm not suggesting that pushing campaign will directly give you more reds (although in a way it literally does since misty Valley is a thing), but rather that the extra exp, dust and gold income is worth the tradeoff in immediate value. As for what you said about "needing" an investment, that concept doesn't actually apply since you could always just sit and level more in the earlier stages of the game, but rather it's a huge boost that will multiply your roster strength. In other words, it's a permanent strength multiplier, not a short term boost, so you should aim to get it as fast as possible.

I don't have Brutus but heard he is a great tank so use him in frontline along with daimon if required and Mirael center with hogan at the back

Nara I mostly use for pulling annoying units like Isabelle

And ferael is also good sometimes
