it really doesnt matter how you feed fodder to fodder, as long as youre keeping in account how many copies of fodder you have so you can get them to L+ in the shortest amount of time. the exceptions are mirael and saveas in earlygame since you can use them as carries then, and arden for support (though honestly hes only optimal at 140+). so both those ideas you presented are fine.

also, dont worry about rerolling in this game. it doesnt matter since you need 8 copies of every hero to fully ascend and thats for the most part up to luck over a long period of time

some basics first - which are already covered in the pinned guides that you should read

1. level your carry to the level cap before you level the rest of your 4 other heroes; it gives you more power differential than spreading it out evenly like what you did
   (who is your carry? probably gonna be eironn if you get a couple more copies. if not, mirael is the standard recommendation for up to level 160)
2. there's no rush to ascend your heroes needlessly (such as your saurus, gwyn, thoran, tasi/lyca, shem) as it wastes fodder.

for your 13-20 stage fight,
A) pls choose only at most 2 dps heroes (ideally just 1 carry is needed, but you did not follow (1) above)
B) tasi is going to teleport around the battlefield, leaving an empty "hole" for brutus to come in and destroy your backline positions 3 & 4. you'll need someone beefy in tasi's place (pos 1) to deny that and hold out as long as possible - common recommendations are (your own) brutus, or perhaps thoran, hogan.

in general, mages or ult reliant heroes will do poorly against farael since he sucks their energy. since you're having shem as carry, it's normal to need to be stronger than usual to clear this stage.
to counter him, you'd want your own farael, or some interrupter like nara to single him out.

Backline heroes are untouchable, no matter which lane i put my heroes Hogan and Estrilda always burst through. Talene goes down first, then Rowan is deleted, Fawkes sometimes ends up surviving at low hp to just drop dead shortly after, Mirael ults dealing pretty much no damage (even when she crits) and Daimon goes down last because both Estrilda and Hogan cancel his shield. Any ideas?

1. because talene is not meant to be tank :
   she can frontline to stall (buy time), and i sometimes recommend a tank to be put behind her so that they can juggle aggro between them to buy even more time, but in your case you have neither
2. you have too many dps heroes. you'd only want at most 2; any more than that is definitely suboptimal, guaranteed. your heroes cant stay alive long enough to deal dmg.

in this specific scenario, i think 1 mirael is enough. you have tasi and rosa for support choices, but no idea about your tank heroes. try it out different combinations first, if not post full box for better suggestions

Well, he does last for a bit or at least enough so that Daimon ults, but at that point everyone except Daimon is dead 80% of the attempts

I was thinking maybe Nara that Mirael out of the way, but she would probably get interrupted anyways so I didn't bother putting her on my crystal and trying it out

Hi,

I'm almost ascension-capped with all my heroes on my crystal. Still no A heroes...

As you can see I made a few mistakes early game and ascended too many different heroes, with a poor fodder management.

How can I unlock myself for progression in chapters?
Which heroes should I focus on, and mostly on which faction would you suggest spending faction scrolls? (I'm thinking about graveborns to hopefully get 2 copies for Daimon and ascend him).

Notice I also have enough copies of Shemira (she was even not wishlisted...) and Belinda for A, but no fodders.

Defentley go with Graveborn for Daimon. As for ascension, you didn't do the worst thing thi ypu won't find use for the L heros. I suggest keeping Belinda and not using her as fodder to link to a dimensional

this should belong in #classic-questions , but
as you yourself have already noticed, your ascension progression was suboptimal thus leading to lack of fodders
your first A is a really big break point so unfortunately nothing to do except get enough fodder to ascend whomever you have 8 copies of. after your 1A, you can then use HCP to get those that lack copies.

DO NOT gamble on the daimon, even 1 copy can take you potentially forever, let alone 2 copies

No matter where I place my heroes, Hogan and Estrilda always find a way through. Backline enemy heroes are pretty much untouchable, while mine don't deal enough damage to take out those in front. Talene is down first, then Rowan is deleted, Brutus lasts for a bit until Daimon has his ult just for it to be canceled by whoever is in front of him, and then Mirael goes down at last and not a single enemy hero is dead. Ascend and level Mirael/Hogan/Saveas/Silvina/Arden first, all the way to L+, using only other fodder heroes (3-ability heroes) as food in the ascension process. That’ll take you all the way to lvl 160, ch12, with no risk and set you up long-term

Saveas, or maybe if you put another tanky hero on the resonating crystal you can “borrow” saveas’s levels. No need to apologize.

Basic team of Saveas and hogan in front, Arden Mirael Silvina in the back, Mirael middle back specifically, can take you all the way to ch12. If you use the resonating crystal intelligently you can get there faster and push even farther but that’s something you do when you understand the basic team and mechanics.

If you're only leveling the main 5, it allows you to bring other heroes that you use up to their level. I have all 5 at 101 with one of my carries at 120 but I can put any hero I use onto the crystal and they're also 101

They’re a viable team just like that. The resonating crystal you can use to make a better team though. I’d start with the team I outlined and replace the heroes with others you put in the resonating crystal only one by one. So you understand how the team works and how to improve it. Mirael must stay in your team though. You’ll want to try and level her highest, the game will force you to keep 4 other heroes within 40 levels of her.

for your stage, belinda is a big threat due to her explosive aoe ult, and so if you're able to kill her before she ults you're more than likely to be able to clean up afterwards.
in general, nara is used to hook troublesome backline enemies to kill them first quickly. doesn't matter if she dies, just needs her hook

i repeat, they are NOT useless. though ascensions provide a bit of stat boosts, levels >> ascension
regardless, supports are always leveled last because you only need them for their supportive abilities
in early game, it's totally normal to face difficulties because you don't have a wide roster; you can go online or read their abilities to find certain counters (e.g. rosa has dmg reduction, she can sometimes withstand silv dive more)

lastly, just because the most optimal way is to hard push with large deficits (needing lots of retries) doesn't mean it's the only way.
at the end of the day, games are to have fun so do take it easy once in a while, it's called afk arena for a reason, come back in a few days after some leveling and you'll find that you suddenly can breeze through

edit: also, if lucius dies too fast, brutus may be able to stall longer
one other trick is to have lucius/brutus in the corner right behind talene to juggle aggro and stall even longer

immediately, i feel that eironn in the corner doesn't offer much. he typically wants to be centre or one of the frontliners to maximise his pull.
since he's your primary carry and overleveled, i think in front of golus should be best. remember also that daimon is not a tank, even though he's classed as one - he can be thought more of a backline mage.
after that, put lyca behind him for synergy, then have a tank in front of the enemy brutus to buy as much time as possible
talene instead of tasi for this stage may also help with heals and stall if that's an issue

@narrow lark There is some promis here. I been using a similar comp but I used fera and not Tasi. Seems with Tasi the whole team survives loner but Athalia comes out of no where and just kills everyone, "wtf mate". This comp seems there is more potential then all the other comps used. Let me play around with this comp a little more to see what kind of RNG I can get.

The point of the charm is so Fera fears his teammates instead. It's def rng so it could take plenty of retries. You can switch to other strat tho and just brute-force your way thru his fears.

I figured thoran over brutus because your thoran is stacked and can take a few hits but brutus is also acceptable there. main thing is you don't need two tank heroes: tasi and rowan can serve as top tier tanks as long as their gear isn't atrocious

i count 8 heroes leveled. you must only concentrate your resources on 5 heroes - no more, no fewer.
to get past level 100, you'll need to ascend them, like how you seem to have done so with hogan, mirael, and arden.
all the strats and basics are covered in Tree3's guide i mentioned.

lastly, since it's called afk arena, there are times where you'll have to afk and wait to level up before you can defeat enemies, it's totally normal

Talene in front of Shemira, Brutus in front of Daimon.

Brutus acts like a meat shield for Daimon while Talene heals. Also, stop ascending heroes to L if you don't have the copies to ascend them to L+

If you can, increase your crystal level to 141 so that all of your heroes on the crystal get an extra boost to their abilities

Thoran is a great meat shield aswell, since he can curse and damage 1 backline hero while tanking for Daimon

Any tips on how to beat 14-37? Got through almost all of chapter 14 with this comp in a day but this fight isn't even close. As soon as shem gets her ult off it's over. I tried CCing her with nara but it's not helping because she dies too quickly. Tasi also doesn't work. I have a 160 Mirael but Daimon at 146 seems better in every way. (Also, I know now I shouldn't have made Rowan and Daimon L without enough copies to make them L+). Would it be a good idea to ascend Belinda or Gwyneth as soon as I have enough fodder and make them my carry?

Swap albedo and tasi, then change tasi for ferael or joker. Experiment with that last slot a bit, maybe swap arthur and ainz to the other side

you'd prolly need your farael or a nemora to deal with their farael.
