what happened to the USA is low cost of borrowing and politicians bailing out home owners every time to the point that a house is a surefire investment

somewhere like sweden requires a 15% downpayment and wont give you a loan you cant afford. so people cant infinitely bid more for the same house cuz they have to have part of that money themselves

if you dont want infinitely rising housing prices

houses shouldnt be availble to everyone
