Not the original person but My recommendations for iPad- Procreate is honestly the easiest to use, but if ur looking for a free option: ibis paint (a lot of ppl Ik rly like it) , auto desk sketchbook (I personally started with it), adobe fresco, iArtbook (most similar to procreate), art set (mimicks real art supplies idk how to describe but oil paint looks 3D ish), medibang (nice and has built in art sharing), tayasui sketches (nice for simple drawings/sketches)

Oh yes! Especially if you reference the ingame model these are SO intricate and it gets overwhelming at times. What I can suggest is considering to additionally reference the comic (if one is available for the character) because the artist needs to abstract the design to a degree unless they want to take forever to finish the comic. They did a great job at simplifying Hildwin‘s design without making it look too shabby in the Winged Vanquisher comic. 😄

Thanks! And still working on all this Lol but basically my current method:
First pic I start by using a brush with hard edges to block in the general shape, and going over that with an airbrush/soft-edged brush to give me a general idea of what colors where

Then I add a ton of little lines usually 40-60% opacity with a hard brush to give texture but still look softish. The colors here are sampled a lot from the first layer but also adding darker & lighter areas (this part usually cramps my hand lol)
Here I try to focus on blending and transitioning a lot between highlight>middle tone>shadow>shadow from reflected light (blueish/cool tone in this case)>highlight from reflected light
pics are of the layer by itself, then with the two layers together

Then I use an airbrush/soft-edged brush to go over everything just to soften it up with some shadows & highlights (and cuz shes underwater make look more hazy)
Pics of layer by itself & with the other two layers

Lastly I go over everything again with an airbrush but this time using an Overlay-type mix to make some areas darker, lighter, or say, adding more blue

It really depends on the character, as the eyes can get rounder or narrower, exaggerated or anatomically correct depending on maturity and vibe they're giving off.

As for how, Oden drains energy, Ferael and Tasi crowd control in their own way, targeted CC/ assassination with Athalia, Nara, Silvina, etc. Just things I can think of right away, and kept to mostly 4f heroes so they're more accessible (not most effective/meta).

Or you could do as I did back then, adding said hero into team, put Rosaline next to them, and have them wipe their team before they wipe you.

To counteract that I started to draw a lot of bodies… and in turn lost the ability to draw faces. 😱 I‘m probably an isolated case though - can always recommend to put in a few 30 second pose drawings from Posemaniacs or the like in your lunch break. 😄

Awww yeah I feel you. Hands are so… so… complicated to get right. Even with tips like heavily abstracting them (like building blocks) and iterate from there I seem to fail a lot.

What helps me when a certain pose or hand pose is actually blocking me from continuing/starting a picture: find a good reference of what pose I am envisioning, screenshot it, put it as a new layer under my sketch layer and adjust it so it fits with how it should look like in the pic. And then simply trace it.

It feels like cheating but I‘d rather use that trick to be able to progress and then properly disclose it when I post the pic. 😄

Depends on what you're after. There's no armour (hard or soft) on her to speak of anyway, but some cloth cover can shield you from the elements

From the standpoint of an isekai'd douchy loser like myself, integrated padding on knees and elbows would help with the sort of combat movement you'd expect of someone who's agility based, but who knows, maybe she toughed it out through training somehow

Granted she does have a shield, and that could make up for the lack of armour (Shadiversity talked about it before on YT when discussing the topic of...well, not having much armour/clothing).

It's actually more endurance that's being preserved. I've tried chain armour myself and seen people in full plate, can still move about with reasonable agility. Don't want to keep it up for long though (and don't get near once we're done, that smell is a weapon of itself)
