I am gonna drop an idea of an art project. Back in around 2020 someone on game forums was posting some doodle figure pictures and was asking for other users to draw on them / draw a theme related to them in afk related themes. I don't recall the users name , but I do have some of my submissions I did back then. Don't have the empty template that was given. Back then he whould post a figure on a certain pose an users whould draw based on that pose ( point up, sit on chair, sad look etc etc) . Perhaps we could do a similar project if you find that interesting

Why is it so hard to finish anything T-T whenever i hit a wall, at a drawing, I start a new one and in the end. I have so many unfinished pieces and not a single colored one.

Aaah yeah I know that feeling. I have piles upon piles of uncolored sketches lying about lol. But if I am to make a colored piece I usually supplement with a lot of references, or watch a process video to get into the groove. Top that with a big "trust the process" and sometimes it allows me to finish stuff.

And yeah, getting caught up in the mental image is often what kills my process the fastest too. But I try to tell myself that works I've hated for the reason they didn't look exactly as I wanted, I've revisited years later and come around to. And even if I'm not satisfied with it I'll learn from that and can use said experience to do better next time

A shot never fired is a shot that will always miss. Can't tell how closely you can draw out your mental image until you actually do it after all.
And sometimes, it's just good to have it out so I can start collecting feedback and second opinions.

But it could just be me. While it isn't much compared to others, I won't have the skill level I have today if I didn't post 3 years ago and ask for feedback. It improves my imaginings along the way too

Usually when we irk about AI it's people not giving credit where it's due (the AI who made it) and try to pass it off as their own work. Hey guys, Lilith/Farlight has asked me to put together a kind of a very special Lore project this week covering the History of AFK Arena to celebrate the release of AFK Journey • first release will be tomorrow afternoon on the 27th and one each day after that, 27-31st • I’m looking for some visuals for the project, as the body of the work that I do is the writing and information to share with everyone!!! So I thought some artworks by fellow Esperians would be a nice way to break up the gameplay footage and cinematics cuts, in exchange for a bit of publicity (if you want it) courtesy of Farlight/Lilith (but you can also submit things anonymously just for the joy of Esperia!!!!) -

DM me to talk more about it, and please understand if it takes me a bit to respond as I’m insanely swamped this week between all things I usually do, and all the events of launch, from starting a launch guild and GMing the leading PTR guild all on top of AE week in AFKA 😭

If you submit directly via DM that’s amazing as it helps skip some steps but be sure to let me know how you’d like to be credited and if you have a website or anything specific you want me to draw attention to besides the images you send!!!

Theres a thing im shocked this guide doesnt talk about and its silhouette, line of action and negative space. Thats like the basic huge fundamentals of the AFK Arena pieces. Alot of AFK Arena art is inspired off of I want to say Byzantine art, primarily stained glass. Literally Aric has such a beautiful use of silhouette and line of action, you can guess from first glance what hero you are looking at.

The book was originally meant to have the writing "Memes" on it. (its a new interpretation of the meme of king Dee Dee Dee looking up while holding a 'meme' book)
It will be used on reddit, there is currently a little project going on where the community can vote for a hero that fits a certain criteria the best.
Tomorrows criteria is 'ugly and evil' . When someone suggests Fane for that category, I'll put this underneath, it will look like he is looking in surprise at the suggestion.

Most of the time, especially when it's not turning out well.
What worked for me is taking a random pose as reference, one you don't really want to see in a finished piece, and scribbling it , if it turns out not so nice start the next one. While you do that you'll get ideas what you might wanna draw and actually in the mood , and thx to the warm up your drawing will also turn out better and therefore give you a boost for the next drawing since your brain will remember the positive feeling of it turning out good 🤔
