I was trying to upload a drawing to the community thingy in game but whenever I select a drawing it crashes, I already tried the advanced setting "fix the game" but still no luck.

very nice drawing i dig it, if you wanna enhance it a bit you could add some more hard shadows you started a bit here and there but i think you could add a few more. I played a bit around with your piece ( to distract myself of my own) hope thats ok

I am editing it then, I was about to make some finishing touches and upload it, as only one person gave me a critique. But I guess there are still things that I can use to enhance it, and this was really helpful, thank you very much! I needed this

i also went and made some quick edits if thats ok,, i think the piece is really nice, has a really nice sense of mood and lighting, and your rendering techniques are really nice! i think overall what would make the piece better is composition and value organization, so the viewer is guided to the focal point (i think you were already doing this pretty well, but i think even more is better). I also tilted the camera for a little more compositional interest, and i did an overlay layer to unify the colors a little more, which boosts the effect of the mood. I also agree with wraith strix that you should continue to diversify your edge quality. a decent rule of thumb is that cast shadows tend to have harder edges and form shadows tend to have softer edges.

@silk rose @half elbow here is the edited piece! I think the fire could be better (like in the two images before) and I wanted to add a bell, but SAI crashed and I didn't want to recreate it, lol. I have also added a gaussian blur around her, but I'm not sure if it makes it better or worse. Anyways, if I could still make things better, let me know!

@silk rose @rose igloo sorry for not replying to this earlier but i was busy celebrating my birthday and christmas! i know the piece is done, but i'll answer in case any future piece or whatever,,, anyways i usually approach painting in a very painterly kind of perspective, for feather texture i usually try and pay attention to the direction of the pattern and the surface quality and how it interacts with the light. i usually feel like feathers are pretty glossy, and highlights on them tend to be cooler temperature than you would think. here are some examples of some relatively recent stuff i've done with feathers. lmk if questions 🧡

What would you think of a Vyloris skin like this? The idea behind is that she's being held by roses instead of chains, so the main theme is roses. Not trying to mean or something, but may I give you a little bit of critique on what I think the drawing could be better in? It looks nice, but I think it could be better somehow, but if you don't want it, then I won't say a word.

This goes for every post I made. There's always something to improve, and I know I'm leagues behind the ones I imitate

First and foremost, the contrast. There is barely any. The colors blend together because they mostly have the same light level, and there aren't many dark shadows contrasting them.
Then about the shadows, I recommend not using black for shadows. Instead, try using the color wheel to get a different hue and darker color, like red for the skintone or light magenta for the brown dress. Shadows are usually a colder color, so most of the time you want to go towards purple and blue.
Also, might just be a personal taste, but her eyes look naked to me, give her some eyelashes! And the eyebrows also need the contrast, hers are white, and without the contrast, they blend into the skin.
The anatomy itself is nice, you can practice it more, but you are on a good path.

Adding contrast really made a difference, also added air brush instead of just diluted water colour brush into the mix to smoothen the shades out. Going to try and see if I can replicate the effect with only water colour brush
