I wasn't sure about posting my drawing I made for the contest on Reddit.
Years ago I posted my hypogeal flora design and it was very well received.
The thing is, I stopped using reddit because a person was harassing me there (has nothing related with afk, but I've had my reservations with that platform ever since)

I can totally understand it that you thought twice about posting your contest entry to reddit. I have a similar story, i drew Talene for a contest once and it was also well recieved but the Silas/Izold drawing i did for a friends birthday gave me a diffrent feedback, or the most recent one for that ReZero contest, we even ´´animated´´ it. I´m always a bit down, for a few days, when that happens, after all drawing is a lot of hard work but i´ve decided to see it as a reason to try to improve my art and pick what I submit to where a bit more thoughtful

I am always open to receive any type of feedback, everything helps to improve. I was very active on Reddit because there I received the interaction that other social networks did not allow me.
On Instagram, Facebook or Deviantart nobody looks at my stuff, what's more, if I post something, people unfollow me no matter how hard I try to improve or what kind of work I post.

I had problems on Reddit but it was because by bad luck I fell into the crosshairs of a malicious person who was taking advantage of the anonymity that this platform offers. And thanks to the drawing I posted of Flora, he discovered my real identity.

In the end I left reddit and I have not wanted to use it.

Maybe that happened 2 years ago and the matter was forgotten. But I still got a bad idea from reddit

Issue is lack of contrast and definition of where her hair is making the space look big, could be fixed rather simply

Her eyes are lined in black which make them look huge while her eyebrows and hair are near white and blend into her skin makes space look big around it

You can look at Veithael to see how they've correctly done celestial with limited color palette and hair similar tone as skin without any issues

Athane sprite looks good w muted colors compared to his splash bc he has a lot of details in a lot of colors, awthalia sprite instead looks washed out and the details are lost bc of how the colors are all homogeneous

This yeah. While making the hairline more distinct could arguably fix the "forehead" issue, there is also the matter of the helmet sitting in a place that creates a rather awkward silhouette. Not necessarily a problem when it comes to the helmet alone, as the overall design is fairly busy. But it's not doing her any favors, say even if she was intended to be bald this design and placement of the helmet wouldn't flatter her.

If something like that happened and was posted or retweeted or whatever onto an official account without anyone realizing, it could cause copyright issues.

it's really weird to argue that Lilith should ban certain types of fanart on official forums in case their social media team reposts that art without talking to the creator and getting permission and establishing who actually created the piece

100% of the userbase doesn't need to be restricted because of the .01% of content that they hand pick to share. their social media team should be doing their job reaching out to artists before posting

besides they repost art that isn't posted on any form of official forum that they control, they repost stuff artists post on their instas and twitter and deviantart and so on. so not only is it impractical to ban at the posting level instead of having their social media team do their jobs, it wouldn't even solve the theoretical issue you're concerned about

if person A traces someone else's artwork, that's a copyright issue for person A, not for Lilith. if person B makes AI art, that's a copyright issue for person B, it's not a copyright issue for Lilith. you keep explaining how AI data sets work but that's not the issue. Lilith isn't legally responsible for their fans and whatever copyright issues their fans get into

and they have literally no other restrictions on posting art that has copyright issues. they don't ban trace work. they don't ban art that uses other art wholesale as a background or some other component. i could draw Safiya and have her holding hands with mickey mouse and they wouldn't care. so why specifically ban AI art?? it's not any more of a legal issue than lots of other types of fan work and Lilith isn't somehow magically responsible for their fans IP violations only when it's ai art

I don't like the AI art that's posted and I especially dislike how low quality it is and how popular it is

and I think there are other reasons that you could argue it should be banned. but there's zero legal reasons for Lilith to ban it, or any kind of other fan work that has copyright issues for the creators

If one wants to separate AI art from other art forms, one can consider the fact that the output of AI art is determined by the finesse of the coding, alongside the sourcing, analysing, and blending capabilities of the algorithm employed, rather than any form of human input beyond a mastery in using Boolean operators. Therefore, the final output should be attributed to the software (AI) rather than the human that tries to claim them as their own.

According to the Berne convention, the method of making AI art violates the right to authorisation of those who have copyright over the artworks the AI sourced. A legal case can be made against the individual who attempted to monetary or reputably exploit the output of AI, but it can't be made against Lilith so long as their social media team have contacted the copyright claimant and sought (and be granted) permission for redistribution.

That said, copyright claims need to be actively enforced by the claimant, and half the time people won't be able to trace the source of the infringement (unless AI blended the signature into their output). As such, AI art generally falls in the gray area of "it's only a crime if you were caught"

There is a moral reason to enforce any segregation or ban of AI art, but legally, the footing is very flimsy

It's just a fun old debate on what to do about AI art, and whether it should be permitted without condition, regulated (be assigned a different thread with terms and conditions governing how they are posted), or banned completely Lilith.

Nevertheless, I guess we can all agree on the fact that AI generated "art" is very different from art as most people understand, in the sense that AI art can be perfectly replicated regardless of skill level.

Provided one has the identical sequence of search terms and programs on hand, 20 different people can generate identical pieces of AI art within a limited time frame (after a certain time, the data base would have expanded and the AI refined its generation process), more perfectly identical than photocopies.

However, if one is to ask 20 different people on this thread to draw Solise, you would get 20 different results based on skill level, time and effort, preferred medium, etc. You can trace and draw one that's identical to the other, but you will still require a certain level of skill to make it perfectly identical.

On a side note, if anyone decides to 3d print and paint Solise figurines, expect at least two people to ask for a price quote and shipping options

As a suggestion for an idea you could have her having something like a paint can and pain near by where she changed her skin and outfit because she's trying to fit in amongst some of the light bearers so she painted all over for a fun day or some spying or something

Making an alternative outfit...well, since there are dimensional heroes in Esperia from the late 5th century all the way to the future, you can consider a lot of options. You can make something seasonal (winter/autumn outfits for example), try Victorian or Edwardian dresses, go full modern Goth (eye liners, leather straps, chains and pendants), medieval, renaissance, Japanese (a yukata perhaps), and many different other options.

Alternatively, you can look at an event, be it past, present, or upcoming, and dress her up to match the scenario accordingly
