I find though the problem with alot of fast progress really is determined by awakened or celohypo heros. I mean the stars of the 4F towers can work close to just being Elite or even in Mythic in some cases.

Even Naruko a beast in towers I feel depending on the formation underperformed now in high deficits

Where alot of good 4F would need some level of investment in furniture and SI

So grit and changing characters wouldn't really be necessary unless ya really invested in someone like Rigby or you are an old player with Lucritia and haven't gotten liberta yet

Rem you need to garrison it, depending on where you are you might not have it unlocked, but on the friend tab, there is a garrison area, you can "rent" a hero for a month, after 6 months you can rent it for free
