In respect to using this for probability in game.
k = sample size
n = expected result to see (so n hero(s) in a sample size of k)
p = is the percent chance of getting the hero

Whereas he just added the probablity to itself, so if the odds are 2.5% he would have a 25% of pulling the hero in 10 pulls.

This would calculate the chance for getting atleast N heroes in your sample size

So n would be 1 if you only care about 1 hero

Then you can calcuate doubles etc

But that doesn't account for pity, which is where the math gets a bit more out of my knowledge

It checks out mathwise to our data, so it should be right

Pretty sure they added it after 45/50 as most pulls got a hero in the 50s

Which if they account for that change, it would bring percieved rates down to 2.5% instead of actual chance rates

Let's say I do pulls 0-soft pity, at an actual chance of 2%

Then once I hit soft pity, it slowly increases to 100% at hard pity

It would skew rates upward

So it might actually not be a rate buff, but they just changed how they calculate the rates.

And lower the chance of going to the 6th pull
