Someone chime in if I'm wrong but I think you just get the levels to resonate 9 and don't activate it. From there any extra copies of anyone already at 9 will all be converted to spice when you activate that resonance.

As a returning player I have had great success climbing with Liberta, Rem, Scarlett, Daimon (was so strong but now at ch40 he feels awful), and Abel. Those 5 carried me through ch31-39 as the main damage dealer in each comp.

as a correction to this, if ur tricking resonance u pull copies of beasts that are at ur "previous" resonance level (so if ur tricking at reso 9 pull copies for lvl 6 pets) and u can level them up
