If the first row is what you are using... swap Nara for Trish. You can place Rosaline frontline or swap to Sonya. If you need healing remove Rosa and place Navanthi.... you can also take out rowan for a 5th wilder

Try not to split fodder in same faction as best you can it'll slow you down, best way to get through campaign stages is duoing server whale/people stronger than you, it's where your pushes are going to come from, do all the side content you have early as you unlock it since it gives you a bit of a boost, and read the guides pinned in #companions-questions + check the subreddit to get an idea of the heroes to focus.

If you're intent on getting through w/o a good teammate you can look at formations to see what others have used to pass the stage and get a feeling for how strong you need to be/key heroes, trial and error is also an option, but it's more effort and less reward compared to a good duo.

To be fair, based off the current beginner guide we love to spam I can see why players don't follow the fodder rules on upgrading. It's small ass print in one corner and really seems more like a suggestion.

ascend the characters that start at elite when you have 8 copies of them, or 4 elite +, ascend the ones that start at rare as much as you like, @nocturne saddle is right you can freely auto ascend, smart ascend is generally fine but can slow you down a little bit if you do it without thinking, that's niche though.

You can ascend the ones that start at rare to L+ since you'll use them for making other heroes stronger just make sure you only sacrifice those ones for the time being

It's when you specifically need one or two more fodder leveled up so you can ascend. Say you just upgraded a fodder to L and need another E+ of them. If you have a variety of fodders sitting at common/rare tier when you auto combine and the rest of the fodder is already at E+ or L it somewhat randomly upgrades. I dont fully understand the logic but it doesn't always seem to follow "oh you have and L fodder you must need another one at E+ to up them"

For me I'm kinda just sitting on lots of fodder anyways so I kinda dont care but I should be manually doing it just in case it messes up one or two copies

The rationale is that you don’t end up not being able to ascend the hero that you do eventually get enough copies for, after ascended they don’t need fodder just more copies of themselves so you can freely take them up to there, and the impact of an ascended key hero is generally > than a couple of mid L/L+/whatever tiers, you kneecap yourself on RC by spreading fodder as well since you’ll have a hard time getting 5 heroes up for level limit if all your fodder per faction went around instead of focused

Try Mishka Rowan Lyca Sonja Trish. Sub in Talene or Jin-woo if you have problems...

And stop upgrading heroes past E+ (purple border) until you have 8-10 copies so you can take them to ascended (white border)

try wilders + talene for one and mira brutus salaki rowan sjw for the other, you could be at the stage where you just need some more depth to your box tho

yeah try and star up sjw as best you can, that'll help a lot, gonna be tricky without a duo though, especially as you progress unless you can get RC up higher

level difference is pretty high already for everyone on that team except cha, maybe try mira instead of tasi (if ur teammate has her) and use talene as back line for cecilia, then just retry might be rng

I did notice that 220 and 200 is like a 25% difference, but it really make this big a difference damn

yeah especially early on, cos ur heroes dont have all their skills on the max level, so overcoming higher level deficits are hard and sometimes require lots of retries, on this comp for example u gotta get rid of thane and lucius early on or they wipe ur team and outheal ur damage

depends on what you have, but cant go wrong with the mauler invader team, if they burst a target and jinwoo gets a reset he can wipe a whole team

i just use standard line ups and retry with the order of the formations, nothing crazy, basically just mirror their formation and pray

basically like this and you just retry a bunch of times eventually u will beat it if the power difference isnt too high, u can also swap out dims for abrutus for example if you dont have all of then
