the ability to one-tap kill off link was its most prevalent use. at only 80% share, enemy wont die in one hit at ~20% remaining, +/- given diff base HP stats, and the longer it takes to get that finisher, the more likely the enemy gets healed or kills you in turn

also, the "shield for wilder allies" was 1.2x, not +20% atk value

so each hero had a starting value modifier, diff per hero, cuz obv tanks will have higher starting value HP than dps would (ie hendrik would have HPmod of 12, Lyca would have 7. not real numbers, just an idea)
each level would have a "base stat value" that, when multiplied by the initial modifier, pretty much perfectly resulted in what we would call "base stats". all powercreeps (sig furn eng etc) modified those base stats (so 20% atk/10% atk/5% atk from s/f/e would be +35% on the "base stat", not 1.2 x 1.1 x 1.05)

and we also knew how much stats grew by each ascension level, so even if we were comparing E to A5, we knew how to account for that

but as it stands now, since we dont know growth by level or the dmg formula, comps has yet to figure out if +dmg% mods or +atk% mods are more valuable, right?
