They truly gave a crap in the years they needed to get the game on its feet. So yeah 2019-2021

They could care less about AFK when they have the behemoth of a game known as RoK (rise of kingdoms)

If a whale and a guild is smart you can configure it so that he is "free to take" and you can share the whale. One person just has to leave, when another person wants to take.

Works pretty well for us and sometimes when the whale is up and the other person had no one to take over, the whale can also kick out and give it to the next one.

Always worth after reaching flat level milestones, so that you get the +20 levels from the whale

He cares a lot for the guild and does a lot on the server - so its also good for him on the long term. Because more happy players and an more active server = more competition.

He does miss out the potential gifts sometimes, that are not much, but sometimes also pretty nice to have - so thats why I say "fair, doesn't have to be that way"

But tbf. classic had a system based on like winning/losing adding mmr and you had to face people way above your level class sometimes.

Which also wasn't really fun. So idk. this arena feels like a inbetween. I guess they want companions to be way more laid back.

And I still like that a lot.

But I also believe more content, with better quality of life features, like (skipping battles) and/or insta-sweeping labyrinth and so one, wouldn't make these things annoying.

you dont want to a5 on classic since you unlock every feature at a1 and spending more is just a waste unless you're a kraken, then you build the next one while focusing on engraving/furniture/+40

also possible if you do not have ice crown

with some kind of skriath variation and so on

... but if you unlock aTalene more likely than not you have pretty much every other tool at your disposal

i also think aTalene, salaki and skriath interact very well with each other

but in practise raine and rowan are just much better

then you put Respen in for 2 copies and T1 him

like if the game decides that your stargazing cards and tavern flips are some random hero that is not the best .. but is helpful for the temple of transcension you just upgrade him anyways

and then if you have enough from the flow you can keep some heroes as Tank said forever in the list... but if you notice game is overflowing you with enough solises that you're done with T5 already... obv stop

you can calculate how many heroes you need

t1 is 8
t2 is 10
t3 is 12
t4 is prob 14

t5 is prob 16

so if you have 60 (30x e+) in total after a5 leftover you don't need any more at all

but you still have the chance to get them from random flips and then if you're on max trishea and random flip more trisheas ... just because you kept overflowing yourself ... you'll be unhappy - thats why go with the flow is imo better

the hero wont lose value because the kit is always valueable

if we look at a very plain dps hero like "vurk"- he only has his damage going for him and if a better dps f.e. such as "crassio" comes out, then its crassio > vurk

i didnt play classic for long enough to know good maulers tho beside safiya (mauler mage) everything else was really mediocre in my time

Maybe that's what lab is, idk, but I'd like something where you keep going with the same team, maybe have a backup one or two and get rewards based on how far you go with a "playlist" of enemies that regularly changes.
And the rewards would be gear related: fodders and mythics after reaching milestones

Fodders should be repeatable rewards as well, up to L+ with random factions, mythics more like a couple a week but not random, like the chests you get in packs and events
