It's not a bad idea, but you don't want to end up level capped due to low ascension in early game. Levels are crtical in making progress in companions. Also, Sonja SI10 asap, imo.

Ideally, a player manages to get 5 heroes, 1 from Lightbearers, Graveborn, and Maulers, and 2 from Wilders to ascended as quickly as they can so they can continue to level up for making progress.
