too many people treat it as just a new gamemode when it's basically a new game

yes it's slow, because you aren't supposed to "finish it" and ascend all heroes within a month

It currently gives smth very close to the original afk experience when they first released the game

The main game is now flooded with rewards, content, power creep, ect which is a major issue with gacha style games

especially for new players because they get flooded with stuff until they catch up to everyone else, which is why gacha games are often only worth joining the first year after release

companions gives a chance to people who didn't join afk arena early enough to finally experience the true game

and depending on how well companion does, I wouldn't be surprised if they slowly started dropping the main game

Why don't they add that to main servers? It would be a nice overhaul. Permanent Martial Ratings. Maps that have different effects as well as changing the formation shape.

• easy/hard campaign
• co-op play
• minigame (AE) focusing on guild interactions

2-team stages begin at chapter 13 as opposed to 31. The boss stages.

I'm at a loss: do I prioritize focusing on a few ascended-tier heroes or get more heroes to Legendary+ until there are 10 of them?

Also chapter 13 introduces Mythic enemies. This is a nice change from the main servers where chapter 10 adds Mythic+ enemies, skipping Mythic so the enemies went from L+ to M.

Regular stages are still 1-team however.

It seems competitive right now since hardly anyone is spending.
One you see whales come in, Companions, as it is right now, will be very top-heavy.
The gap between F2P and spenders will be much wider than in Classic, especially since even basic resources are gated here in Companions.

As for your experience not doing much in Classic every week, that's probably because you're already an end-stage player. The same will be in Companions or almost any other idle game after you've played it for a long time.

You're experiencing the thrill of early game again, that's why you feel there's so much to do.
