bro Imma be honest, Nikko was kind of a letdown overal for me. Nice landscapes and nice temples, but the main temple was just plastered with papers and souvenir ads and other stuff like metal fans, brooms and stuff littered in multiple small shrines around the temple grounds. The holy place that didn't allow photos/cams had a souvenir shop in the middle of the main spot. Everything kind far apart and late night restaurants were closed when I went in october last year.

I recommend taking the train from toyosu station back into Tokyo, I can't remember which train specifically but if you get on the front right of it you have the most stunning view all the way into Tokyo
