Hi, Since it will be my first time it will be also some of the standard things like senso ji, meiji temple, also Nikko and the kegon waterfall but further outside of tokyo. Also a bit of the modern arts like teamlabs. In the evenings enjoying the Japanese kitchen. In tokyo it will be for me more the modern setting and then with for instance takayama a bit more rural and mountainvibes with hiking. I would like to not fully set my agenda and let myself also be guided by the experience of others.

You’re off to a great start! If you plan on visiting multiple temples and shrines, I highly recommend purchasing a Goshuin book. The brand Crucial offers some beautiful, artistic designs. These books are used to collect temple and shrine seals.

I found a store near Sensoji selling the Crucial ones (I’ll have to dig up the name), and I also came across a smaller selection of them at Hands (formerly Tokyu Hands) as well as the souvenir shop at Meiji Shrine.

hey! im not actually set on a date yet for when i visit but september onwards is very possible for me💪 💪

it would be my first time and im still putting together exactly what I want to do, but here's a very unorganised list

National parks/nature reserves/shrines temples - [shirakawa] i love being in nature and doing long walks, some convenience store picnic could be fun in one i think

cute/weird/unique themed cafes/bars [the FFXIV cafe has multiple locations i believe https://en.pasela.co.jp/paselabo_shop/ff_eorzea/ , I've seen so many pop-up cafes for things im into but id have to look more into what will be open then, i am a sake fan and would love to actually drink some in japan as well as go to some of the beautiful bars. japanese sweets and desserts have my heart. ]

It would depend how much time you have on hand. I have planned a trip to kanazawa to see a more traditional city with hopefully not that crowded with tourists.

I was originally going to Nikko but decided to do Hakone properly because I didn't do it justice when I went last time

When do they release?

Apparently every 10th of the month at 10 am for the next month. So for September you would need to buy them on the 10th of August at 10 AM JST. Apparently prior to that there is a 15 minute queueing system which assigns you a random number in the queue. So best to bet on laptop tablet and phone for a better chance.

If you plan on eating out, sticking to a party of 4-6 would be ideal as anything larger than that may have issues fitting into restaurants

Fuji q is lit. It takes all day to ride almost everything. It's near Fuji/Gotemba. I liked the team game with lasers and there's a themed experience if you're into some of the older media you'll know what it is. Not gonna say too much about it. They have that one Guinness world record ride that is like the zipper/ rollercoaster where they stop you at the edge and drop you at a crazy angle.

Said it had something to do with the plane and the couldn’t fix it but had us wait 15 hours in the airport before they could finally tell us. Basically strung us along until the last moment then said “we can’t fly tonight we need to get a new plane so we’re putting all of you in hotels”

I'll be honest with you we've just been eating and walking around

I'd recommend eating the local specialties like Jingisukan or dairy products.
Going to the TV tower was nice, and Nakajima park was neat, though odori park was somewhat underwhelming

This is our first location in japan so we haven't been focusing on the local stuff as much as it deserves since literally everything is new and interesting

We spent pretty much an entire day at a library and a donki

Be careful taking a cab, I’ve heard they’re generally not willing to pick you up from Daikoku given its location leaving some people stranded.
