Basically it's two venues connected directly to each other. Each band plays ~3 or 4 songs, then you swap over to the other venue, back and forth until they do the New Years countdown and the (last?) band plays right at midnight

Pretty sure Mt Fuji's hiking trails closed in September and won't reopen until June/July-ish

That said, December's a great time to see Mt Fuji tho (far more clear sky days means you're far more likely to get a great view of it from nearby cities like Kawaguchiko)

It'll be closed the last 2 days of your trip (Dec 8th-Dec 19th), but the Mt Fuji Ropeway in Kawaguchiko gets you some great views of Fuji
