If you’re out on a Saturday, I can recommend Okinawa Paradise in Shinjoku. It’s a Okinawa-themed Izakaya with live music by one of the staff, a crowd-engaging drinking song, cheap beers, decent food, the Japanese literally walked all over the Izakaya, greeted everyone (including me and my friend), cheered “Kampaiiiii” and had a really good time. It’s a great place to pre game and it’s also a destination for guided Shinjuku food tours (there was one group there). You’re able to sit down Japanese style and have a time of your life. It was a GREAT experience!
