buysumotickets.com. Its not a service I have used before but I looked it up to make sure its legit and all looked good. You give them a day you want to go and a backup day incase they cant get tickets for your first choice and they sort it all out for you.

Easy to get to the starting point from Kyoto Station. There's a lot of additional exploration that can be done aside from just reaching the summit, but it seems the quickest path up and down can be under 2 hours.

Kitano Odori is the first one and is held in March and April, which is currently ongoing. Tmw is the last day.

Miyako Odori runs the entire month of April and is currently ongoing

Kamogawa Odori runs for nearly all of May

Gion Odori runs in November

Its one of the few ways for outsiders to see real geisha and maikos legitimately and far better than ambushing poor maikos on the street

To be fair, Japanese loan words are transcribed to be consistent with Japanese pronunciation rules (Katanana-ized) and so aren't exactly English anymore

As Chrome said, those are loan words. Also when you pronounce gyoza as guyoza, that's mispronunciation, not accent. It's totally ok to have an accent, but pronouncing something wrong will impact understading or even change its meaning

If a Japanese person goes to the US and asks for kohi, they can't expect to be understood
