But Osaka castle is sick because there's no entrance fee or closing time except for going inside the actual castle. My hotel was very closeto it, and it was so nice for a night walk.

Osaka castle is not a real castle though. Check out Himeji castle for the proper thing. Regarding whether there should be an emperor or tourists, it is indeed up to Japanese to decide. It is very arrogant to tell them what to do.
