Dam you really stayed up for it
The dedication
But anything for your Japan trip
I love how I’m ahead of time
It’s so weird but cool at the same time
It’s Tuesday in 3 hours
i went to sleep and woke up but now i’m going back to bed 🫡 gn
i’m getting a crash course in how anything popular requires a reservation lol
Don’t worry I know the go you always gotta be prepared
I tried booking a place for 5 the other day but res opened for March and in 1 hour all spots were taken so I only managed to get 4 😭
Oh yeah I'm in NY and we just got a 3 inch dump
I find that if you have a morning arrival, sleep on the plane as much as you can then eat your daily meals and lose to your normal schedule as possible, it helps trick your body. If you have a night arrival, don't sleep on the plane and eat dinner/breakfast when you normally would
Did we plan tongo to kamakura together too? I forgot lol
My plan is to go to Kamakura/Enoshima on the 7th and Nikko on the 8th. But I can switch the days so I can join y'all.

I haven’t planned kamakura w anyone yet
Oh, i forgot who I made plan with lol. Do you want to go to Kamakura same time?
I’m joining this one too!
Hey guys, I'm T, procrastinator artist, photographer from the U.S. and this will be my second time in Japan.I will be arriving in Japan early on March 9 and will be leaving March 18.
Currently I'm planning to take a day trip to Hakone the day I arrive.
March 11, take a day trip to Gala Yuzawa to snowboard for the first time.
March 13, head to Osaka and will stop by Gujo Hachiman on my way there.
March 14, Sumo tournament (maybe).
March 16 or 17, head back to Tokyo
In between those days, I'll just be walking around exploring/doing street photography. If you are in these areas and want to join/hang out, let me know. Also, if you are interested in going somewhere but don't want go alone, I don't mind to join you, if I'm close by with nothing to do
I’m into photography and am down to go around Tokyo
It will be my first time visiting
I love content creation, I would love to join you guys too and possibly get some videos made ^^
Sounds good! I didn't get to explore tokyo last time as much, so It'll all be somewhat new to me too lool. Wanted to check out shinjuku/shibuya/ akihabara more too
Feel free to join us
Should we make a group chat so we can see what we are planning? cc @cobalt wren
Should we make a group chat for this? @azure zodiac
Agreed
feel free to accept the request
waiting for @rich glade to accept so I can make one 🙂
I am bringing my Canon Rebel trying to practice haha..it will be horrible pics tho haha
Hey, loool. Practice makes perfect. My first time in Japan, I bought an a6300 and had no clue how to use it loool
gotta make sure that the camer works..its been a while since I took any pictures lol
I’m down to meet, tho I’m going with a grp
group from here or a tour group?
43 more days here.
Group of friends
But we may split up sometime so
Like some are only interested in a half day
got it, we can prob meet for food or something haha
I leave Thursday :D
Hellooo! I‘ll be back in Tokyo from March 10th to 18th 🌸 Would love to join you photography guys ehe
Of course! We have a group chat as well. If you'd like to join, lemme know and I'll send you a link
Yespleaaase!

@livid aspen sent you the link!
What dates are you guys doing? I wanna join!
Sent you the group chat link!
You'll be gone by then 😦
Will be in Tokyo from 14-18 😊
@wooden lichen I think a good bit of us will meet up on the 16th and 17th, if you'd like to join us. We're doing day trips from tokyo that day
Yesss I’m down !
If everyone can deal with an Aussie HAHAHAHAH
Anyone used the luggage transfers in Japan last time I asked my hotels about it when i was there last time but they said I have to do it in advance, does anyone know how long you won’t get your luggage for when u do the luggage transport ?
Hey guys, can someone drop the latest spreadsheet?
ohhh 16th count me in
Hey yall! I’ll be staying in Shinjuku from March 6th-12th. Down to grab drinks if anyone will be around! Coming from Philadelphia (go birds)
I'll be around the shinjuku area from the 9-12 if you want to possibly hang out
I’ll be there starting the 7th, from Pittsburgh. So I’d be down
@rich glade @keen crown sweet!!! I will be there with a homie for the first time. just going with the flow and for sure drinking lol
Sounds good, I’m always down for a drinks while traveling, especially as I will be on my own.
The 9th and 10th are good days for me. Idk about the 11th, as I was planning to go to Gala Yuzawa for snowboarding and I'm not sure how late I will be. But if it's not too late, I can hang that night too
Isn’t it going to be pretty late in the season for snowboarding?
I don’t think so, at least farther north it isn’t
Hmm ok. Yea I gave up on plans for a ski day when I moved my trip back a month (originally was coming end of January) and couldn’t plan to do Hokkaido this time. Since I’m splitting my vacation between Seoul and Japan.
Damn that sucks
Eh it is what it is. I probably shouldn’t ski for the first time in 10 years in a country that I don’t speak the language for.
Yeah sure!
I wanna join too~
Sorry I’m just now seeing this yes!
Hi all here. I am making a group chat for Kamakura/Enoshima Trip on March 8th if you want to join!! 🙂
I don’t think I’ve committed myself to anything else yet. I’m in
Friend sent me this. Cherry Blossoms in Ginza Tokyo already
Omgggg 😍😍😍
I'd love to join if there are still any free spots!
Also, if anyone wants some company for any shopping/cafe hopping/food or anything really 😭😭 I'll be in Tokyo from the 4th-10th 😜
Oh just saw this too! Would love to join. I’m always down for anything sweets, cute cafes and cakes 😂
Do you know how to reserve a spot? It seems the app isn’t available to non-jp regions
I can expand the reservations! I think it's 6 now?
yay the more the merrier
time to make a jp apple store account lol
Oh I have a Pixel, it let me download the Sweets cafe app (they make you reserve on the app) but I think you have to make a Japan apple account if you want to download it
You can join us unless you're planning on a different time
I made the reservation for March 7th at 11:15am
Which branch is it ?
Shinjuku Branch - Shinjuku East Exit Store
Shinjuku FF Building B1F, 3-26-6 Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo
after that do you guys have anything plan?
I dont have anything after that!
we could go check out some flea markets or shop!
lets go~
im so excited!! only 17 more days!
im so down!!! yayay 😊😊
Awwww man, I wasn't able to end up getting a Sumo ticket for any of the days I picked in the pre-order
Now idk if I even want to go out of my way to go back to osaka again, could just spend more time in Kyushu and less time on shinkansen
I booked sumo but it's not in the Edison arena
It's another place nearby, not like the official match but still seems good
honestly I was really pushing the limits of my itinerary going all the way to osaka and it was just if I could go to those big matches. I'll end up saving a good bit of money by just not. Maybe i'll do a day in Takamatsu now
Oh okay
I also can avoid a 6-7 hour trip from Osaka to Kagoshima on the shinkansen now lol that's a big one. was pretty much losing an entire day for transit
flying from osaka to kagoshima doesn't really save much time unfortunately because the kagoshima airport is about an hour outside of town
so its a 6 hour flat shinkansen ride (potentially 7 if I need to hop off and stretch or eat or something) vs like 1 hr travel to osaka airport, 1hr at least of security time, 2hr flight, then another 1-1.5hrs to get into kagoshima from the airport
Yeah it isn't good either way
I'm gonna need to mentally prepare for 13 hours of flight without stops 🥹
Yea the only reason I'm even leaving Kyushu is to go to Okayama for Koraku-en garden, then I was like damn well I'm kinda close to Osaka... but just too much out of the way tbh
I'll probably lay down in the tail to sleep
Ngl my first long-haul flight last year that was like 13.5 was almost easier than some like 3.5hr domestic usa flights ive taken lol
I paid for the exit row extra legroom seat and the experience is just completely different
multiple meals, nice flight attendants, actually good in-flight entertainment and big plane
Plane is bigger and everything but I'm 6'2, thankfully I booked the seats near the walk part so I can stretch a bit
Although on the flight back from California while I was sleeping the flight attendant almost broke my toe with the food and drink cart 😂😂😂
Yup same they kept having to ask me to move my foot I felt bad after the third time and just stretched straight out as far as I could lol
the flight home was so easy I was tired af and slept the whole way. having a face mask and earplugs on the flight there helped a lot
Yeah I have one too also I have to change my sleeping habits to fight the jetlag
idk if you were in the chat when I mentioned it before but check out the Timeshifter app if you have never heard of it. it's based on NASA sleep research and tells you exactly how to change your sleep schedule leading up to and after your trip to minimize jet lag
I asked chatgpt hope he got the information from there 😂
Jk I'm gonna check it out, thanks
Pretty much the same thing as chatgpt but at least it sends notification 😃
I did Chatgpt and this is what they gave me lol
March 2 (Flight Day – Chicago to Amsterdam)
4:00 PM CST – Eat a light meal before the flight. Avoid alcohol and caffeine.
5:00 PM CST – Flight Departs ORD → AMS. Try to sleep for at least 4–5 hours. Use earplugs, an eye mask, and a neck pillow to improve sleep.
11:00 PM CST (7:00 AM Amsterdam time) – Wake up as if it’s morning in Europe. Stay hydrated and eat breakfast on the plane.
March 3 (Amsterdam Layover)
1:00 PM CET – Arrive in Amsterdam. Stay active; walk around the airport. Get exposure to natural light or bright indoor lighting.
1:30 PM CET – Eat a meal adjusted to Japan’s afternoon schedule (9:30 PM Japan time).
3:30 PM CET – Short nap (20–30 minutes) if you feel sleepy, but don’t sleep too long.
Flight AMS → KIX
5:20 PM CET – Flight Departs AMS → KIX (March 3)
6:00 PM CET (2:00 AM Japan time) – Eat a light meal; avoid heavy carbs.
7:30 PM CET – Sleep on the plane for 4–5 hours to align with Japan’s night (until 6:00 AM Japan time). Use an eye mask and avoid screen time.
March 4 (Arrival in Japan)
11:00 AM Japan Time – Arrive at Kansai International Airport.
11:30 AM – 3:00 PM – Stay outdoors or in bright light. Walk around and drink plenty of water. Avoid caffeine.
12:30 PM – Light lunch (soup, salad, or sushi). Avoid heavy meals.
3:00 PM – 7:00 PM – Short breaks or light activity, but no naps.
7:00 PM – Early dinner.
8:00 PM – Begin winding down. Avoid blue light (screens) and caffeine.
9:00 PM – Go to bed to reset your body clock. Aim for 8 hours of sleep.
Tips for Success:
Melatonin: Optional to help with sleep. 0.5–1 mg about 30 minutes before bedtime for the first two nights.
Stay Active: Walking and light stretching help boost energy during the day.
Hydrate: Avoid dehydration, which can worsen jet lag.
Yeah melatonin should do the trick
Just a curiosity, why are you traveling thru Amsterdam?
I am paying with points, and thats what I can get lol
Oooh okay
My full flight itinerary is MEM-ORD-AMS-KIX
How much flight time in total?🥲
just have to pay separate flight from MEM-ORD and then ORD-AMS-KIX with KLM points lol
damm thats a lot of flights 😅
welllllll....if you consider the layover, it will be about 28 hours.. lol
Omg
wow i had something simular last time i went to japan now i only fly direct 😛
7AM MEM-ORD.....7 hours ORD Layover.....5PM ORD-AMS.......7 hours AMS Layover.....5PM AMS-KIX..... lol
That is correct lol
your doing almost a lap around the world 😉
pretty much... but I am not complaining, coz im flying with biz class..so at least I can sleep fine XD
All that in Biz..
that helps alot
its fine...coz my original flight is 4 days later...March 6th arrival the 8th.
and found another flight where I can be in Japan 4 days earlier XD...so not so much lost...now its March 2nd, arrival March 4th
I see I see
but it has to be KIX arrival...guess shinkansen it to tokyo after.
Flying half way around the world in four planes.
Wait 3
O'Hare is a pretty mid airport. Schiphol is too.
yeah 😦 nothing much I can do when I already transfered my points to KLM/AF....can only use what they have
My original FLight was ORD-CDG (with 1 hour layover)-HND....and people said CDG airport sucks
and they said i will 100% miss my connection flight in CDG
schiphol is pretty bad but not as bad as cdg that place is an absolute nightmare
I need to figure out if I can get visa on arrival in AMS to explore a little bit
as a dutchie i usually fly out of schiphol but this time will be my first time out of Brussel zavetem ( BRU)
I do love the Netherlands. I wish I could go again one day.
i wanted to fly ANA and it was cheaper from BRu 😉
Went there 2/3 times it was really nice
A part from the bikes
I was mainly contained in Den Haag and Rotterdam. Would like to go to other places.
and ANA customer service is top notch
there are quite alot of nice places with hardly any tourist as 90 % only does amsterdam and the keukenhof ( tullip musuem)
My return flight is with JAL, so I am going to compare ANA and JAL
not that much depends on the time of year utrecht is a big student city so during summer its less crouded
crowded *
Ah I see
when do you leave to Japan?
next wednesday 😉
staying for a month 🙂 im flying out march 19th
7 hours isn't much for Schiphol.
its not enough time to explore a little?
i think you could go to amsterdam by train but amsterdam is in almost any dutchies opinion a shithole 😅
ZAANSE SCHANS I went here, the windmills were so beautiful
haha nice i life pretty close to kinderdijk also a famous windmill place 😉
i may need to check that out when im back havent been there yet your legit the second person this week that said it was great
The museum?
yeah
haha always good to know
I have one layover in paris too, a 13hrs layover...
but its the only one so I'm fine
Damn 13 hours 😩
it's business class worth 10k so guess I'm fine
Yeah but still
How do you guys travel so much lol that’s so cool
I'll have the lounge access and free food and shelter in the airport so I guess it's just like home 😂
I'm not saying you'll sit on a bench for 13 hours but still knowing you have another 13 hours to fly is rough
well my friend, thats the part of traveling. 13hrs stranded in an airport, I'll talk about it with my grand kids lol
Yeah just be sure to not Tom Hanks it 👀👀👀
When are you in kagoshima? I'll be there mar 18-22
so hear me out guys, I'm not a doctor butttt I found the best way to combat jetlag and to maximize the time you have traveling halfway across the world is by changing your sleep schedule 2 days before you arrive
same i will have KLM lounge access in AMS...7 hours layover lol
welll I work until the day before my flight XD...so I cant do that
same I'm flying KLM too
which I realize is probably not great for those who have a set working schedule 😂
that actually sounds like something mmm...
That’s what I wanted to do but I can’t cause of work
so you are just telling me not to sleep a night before lol
LMAO I did that my first time to asia
but now that im older, I cant handle the all nighters
Staying up the night after work cause I have to leave my house at like 3am
And melatonin!!’
Def trying tht to sleep on my flight
I also find that its taking me longer and longer to adjust so changing my sleep schedule just by a few hours helps
I have an afternoon arrival so I'm going to try and sleep as much as possible on plane instead of watching Dune for the 18th time
Same, I’m arriving at 1:50pm so I should be able to get some sleep before landing
but dune is a masterpiece my plan is to watch dune part 1 and 2 on the flight 😄
The only timezone problem I had was three months ago when I did not see night for 3 long days. I flew from helsinki when it was day, I reached the next day in LHR during Day, the flight got cancelled in LHR, then the evening I flew from LHR to DEN, when I landed in DEN it was day.
So I hadn't slept lol
I’ve never watched dune lol
my backup plan is Benadryl
I heard it’s good tho
its very good u should try
Yeah I’ve been meaning to give it a watch
well here's your opportunity, 13 hours to kill in a steel flying can
I would bring everything...melatonin, benadryl, or unisom lol
Trueee
I dunno about yall but I kinda liked when wifi wasnt a thing on planes
no one can email me
there's no interruptions
I didn’t pay for WiFi because I thought it’s gonna make me stay up
I have Legion Marvel Show Season 1-3 on my tablet....A Descendant of the Sun Kdrama.....and other stuffs
And now I’m kinda panicking I wish I would’ve paid 💔
ooh Legion marvel was good
lol if you have Tmobile I think its free on a few airlines
not ANA tho I think
If I have the option to pay in the spot I will
not on ANA for sure...you have to be in biz class to get the free wifi XD
You will have the option...or just talk nicely to the FA and ask for freebies...YMMV
they wont give you upgrades...but who knows they will give you wifi vouchers
I’m too shy lol I don’t think I can do that
I got a upgrade once because a lady sat on me
story time!!
the FA only noticed when she came to pass out snacks
how the heck that happened? did the lady sat on you all the time? XD
I was legit not going to complain because its only a 5 hour flight from NY to CA
yeah like imagine your face against the window
I couldnt actually get out to use the bathroom and I was mildly panicking until the FA noticed that I couldnt put my seatbelt on
She very kindly moved me to business and I didnt have to hold it for the remaining 4 hours
Thats a nice FA//
almost those exact same dates actually haha, I'm there from the 19th to 22nd
yeah she was awesome
there's so many unique cafes that I want to see!
Like the bulter cafe
there's apparently a cuddle cafe too???
Oh nice!! If you have any free time, it'd be cool to meet up for food or something
I booked kagoshima not realizing that it's a little tricky getting around without a car lol
a cuddle cafe?
yeah I guess you can pay someone to cuddle with you
😂 its interesting but I feel like it'd be super awkward
I’ll have to do some research
I wanted to check out a book off super bazaar if anyone wants too go aswell
oh I love bookoff! let me know when you're going!
Female muscle cafe?
ofc! if you have a preferred day im free after the first week of march
count me in
Ahhhh looked into the cafes lol
Already booked🫡
where is this location? asking for a friend.
count me in 😉
Its for research purposes...
😂
How do you guys manage to plan around these get togethers? I’ve agreed to like 4 different things and I’m lost now 😭
You commit to one and do it. don't commit to 100 diff people ig
same lol
excel 😂
I just have idea on what I said I want to do and I'll just message here again
tbh i found a lot of meetups happen spontaneously
I think almost everyone i met last year was by me popping into the meetup chat and seeing who was available at that moment
Yess I’m excited to meet people, other places I’ve gone to have been a little more planned but I always find that spontaneous decisions lead to the best memories lol
Do you visit often??
same, I'm coming for 14 days and I have confirmed dates with everyone so I'm meeting someone every other day lol
It's so true!! I made a few good friends i randomly met in japan. They're actually visiting me in canada this week lol
Long story short is 2023 was the first time i visited japan, but i stayed for like 9.5 months on a working holiday visa
oh wow!
Wait I’m just now seeing your pfp I saw it on twitter I love those drawing 😭💗
omggggg yes i'm such a fan of anna laura's art!
yeah we definitely should! one sec I can pull up my current rough plans, if anything seems fun you're welcome to join me
The cycle around sakurajima that I'm gonna do on the 21st is like ~35km, and they do also rent electric cycles
There's definitely a lot less transit in kagoshima than most other cities but it seems decent enough since the town is also really small, the CUTE pass that I have to buy on the first day is like 2k yen to get 2 days of transit completely covered along with discounted entry to a lot of places
"Probably pass out in hotel" and "go out drinking" what a mood
Should be combined on the same night 😂😂😂
Hey there I am supposed to be in Tokyo on 1.3 for a few days if anyone wants to meetup
Heyy could I possibly join the gc too? I’m very interested in going on day trips w people cause I don’t wanna go alone lol
Im going to the GIGO arcade in akihabara the night i land which is the 5th if anyone wants to join me
what time are you landing
?
im going to Daikanyama Issaikassai at 5pm but im free before or after!
Yeah I’m down, I’m staying in the akihabara area anyways
its about 45 mins away but thats a straight subway shot
Oh rip ill arrive just the day after
We can go the next day like I said I’m close anyways
yeah im down to go again
do you guys want to go to the Onsen too?
Senkyaku Banrai Toyosu Manyo Club Onsen
im really down
I wanna check out game panic/lesuireland also, id be down to go in the evening (in the afternoon im doing teamlabs/tokyo tower)
When?
eeee ive always wanted to go to one!!
I'll be in Tokyo 3/1 afternoon/evening and 3/2 morning/lunch if anyone wants to meet up for some dinner, drinks, arcade, or anything!
March 5-7 is good for me!
I'll arrive March 1st afternoon as well! I was thinking Tonkatsu for dinner: https://tonkatsu.jp/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=maps
or anywhere else, Shibuya has so many great places
theres also にくといろ (Meat and Color) which is like a japan bbq place with an AYCE option
I have that spot on my list too! I was going to go another day and was planning to do a wagyu dinner the night of 3/1, but tonkatsu sounds good!
ooh which wagyu place where you thinking?
+1?
Still in the process of researching, but I was planning on splurging a bit since equivalent japanese wagyu back in the states costs way more
one spot I had bookmarked is "T nakameguro"
the more the merrier!
ooh that not bad, whats your budget if you dont mind sharing?
just wagyu or Kobe is also okay?
most of the high quality wagyu/kobe spots I've come across have been around 20k yen, give or take
my understanding is Kobe is a specific type of wagyu, one of the better types
anyone want to go to this w me?
https://idolish7-cafe.f-ent.jp
i just made a reservation for 2 on 3/5 from 2-3pm
yes I think kobe is about 50K yen ish
wait you got it??
so you know any good spots? i have some bookmarked but havent looked through them in detail yet to pick one. I had jsut notionally planned wagyu that night since it's my last night
yee the reservations just opened!!
it seems pretty open for the rest of the month though
So Im a huge fan of AYCE like Ginza Steak
50k yen might be out of my budget, but 20-30k yen seems reasonable an common
Aw man I land tht day at 2 if not I would’ve joined
Do you guys plan every meal?
Like restaurants?
or Michelin star Oniku Karyu
only a rough plan, unless it's something special
yeah I only booked the events or michelin star restaurants
idt i can change the reservation😭
Hakushu - Kobe Teppanyaki is good too
This one seems like a good balance
the meat quality is pretty good for the price
sounds good to me
also has okonomiyaki!
what time were you thinking?
beccause alot of places require reservations
I arrive to Haneda at 15:10, so by the time I make it to the hotel to drop stuff off and freshen up, maybe 18:00? they open at 17:30
Im just gonna wing my meals
oh i arrive the same time!
JFK 😂
oh boy, that's a long flight
yessir I think about 14hours?
bold of you to go out that night! haha
I haven't booked a hotel yet for that night so I'm not sure how far I'll be exactly, but I suspect I'll end up booking something in Akasaka or Ginza, so not too far
LMAO I'm going to try and snap my body into the new timezone
that's the way to do it...one rough night and reset by the next morning
oh yeah, maybe if I force myself into my normal routine, i'll adjust faster
I'm staying in Roppongi
I do love the direct lines
i'm not as familiar with the subway lines. I was just trying to find somewhere that will make access to tsukiji the next morning relatively quick
oh yeah Ginza would be your best bet
oh dang Hakushu - Kobe Teppanyaki is booked like a whole month in advance
ruh roh
i'm on tabelog as we speak, but they don't seem to have a teppanyaki filter
looks delicious
is that teppanyaki also?

thoughts on this?
this also looks great
the yakiniku setup might be nice for hanging out and leaves room if others want to join as well
ooh yess
Not finding this one on google though
Nvm, I think it's this
that looks right
I trust tabelog reviews more than google reviews. Feels like everywhere has good reviews on google lol
plus you can buy google reviews so its super hit or miss
anyone want to do Kyoto, Osaka and Nara with me between 18th to 21st March?
Please text me if you want to join the group for the arcade, I don’t want to forget anyone:)
add me up : )
What day is this and what arcade?
Anyone else want to join @fervent kraken and I here for dinner on March 1st?
Also going.
im down
GIGO and a couple of dates after the 5th I believe
Ah, gotcha. I leave on the 2nd 😦
Here early march!
Hey would love to join not sure if I am going to be in Tokyo yet but still would love to get details
Oh when’s the arcade sorry missed this!
Ah we land the 7th sadly!
from Spain and I am 34 years old. I will travel to Japan from the 2nd to the 16th of March on my own. My itinerary is: March 3-5: Tokyo, March 6: Tokyo - Takayama, March 7: Takayama - Shirakawa-go - Takayama, March 8: Takayama - Okuhida Onsen, March 9: Okuhida Onsen, March 10: Okuhida Onsen - Gujo, March 11: Gujo - Kyoto, March 12-13: Kyoto, March 14: Kyoto - Osaka, March 15: Osaka.
I would like to meet people to share skiing activities and nature walks in Takayama and Okuhida, or if there are any foreigners in Gujo which I think is a small town or have a drink in the cities in the evening.
I'll keep an eye on this thread when I'm there and have the energy to socialize in case someone wants to make a plan.
March 6th is my birthday and I will be alone in Takayama xD
Some of us are in Osaka on 15th we can do a meet up for drink/dinner😃
What a pity! I'm leaving Osaka early on the 15th, but if there are any plans on the 14th, I'm in!
I'm in Osaka 14th and 15th tho I'm visiting Nara on 14th so I'm free for dinner
Ugh I’m flying from jfk on the 5th and hope I can sleep the whole time lol
I'm in Osaka on the 14th for the Sumo fest, so I should be able to hang out later after it's done. Will probably leave back to Tokyo midday on the 15th tho
I'll be staying Kyoto for a day on the 12th if you're there and want to hang or just someone to take a photo, as that's what I'll be doing. May do a daytrip to nara as well, but not sure atm
Sent you the link!
my group of 3 also in Osaka 12-17th so be keen to grab a drink with some people on the 14th if something does happen 🙂
I know, it's really hard sometimes to sleep on the plane
My doctor gives me Valium and I have the best sleep everytime on a plane ill be crashed out the whole 10 hour flight 😂
ooh Valium is the strat 😂 too bad you cant just buy it OTC
Yeah I’m taking the 12:45am flight so hoping that helps me sleep 😂
I've booked the teamlabs on 7th unfortunately
I'm down, you'll be in tokyo 14th-16th ?
I land on the 14th, so probably the 15th or 16th - whatever suits best
Great!! So far I'm completely free, so let's see what works for us ^^
just checked some info and sent u a dm
@arctic peak Dm ed
Just out of curiosity, is anyone getting a flu shot before traveling? Im debating how bad its going to be and if I really need one
Why 🤔
apparently there's a flu spike in Japan
I mean there's a flu spike here in the US too but my family has been super worried ever since that singer Barbie died from the flu in Japan
I heard about this and feel terrible for her and her family. She did get pneumonia with previous health conditions.
oh it was awful especially since she just married her first love just a few years ago.
That's terrible. It's up to you if you wanna get a flu shot, I don't see a problem in getting one if you feel like you'd want to.
I have a history of pneumonia but im also scared of needles so im in the limbo of "will it be worth getting stabbed?"
Hmmm. Thats a tough dilemma for sure. I think it's all a matter of which would be better for you
I suppose the worst case is that it doesnt work 😂
but also people in my city are lining up in droves to get the flu shot this month
Personally, I get really groggy and mind fog from any sort of vaccination, so Ill probably skip it, but who knows.
Just take it about a month before you go
ooh that doesnt sound pleasant, I dont think ive ever gotten the flu shot after high school
i think im cutting it close, my flight is in about 2 weeks too
I wonder if the flu’s are the same strain
Yeah that's another thing to consider
Consult with your doctor 😃
I leave tomorrow at 7am so too late for me anyways unfortunately
😂😂😂
People have been saying that it has already peaked but yeah, getting the flu is a literal lottery.
Its either you do or do not..
Best that you don't
I hear it’s not great in the northern US. luckily I don’t live there
The US strain seems pretty bad, my mom's had it for a month now
Flu is no joke really. When I got it in 2023 near the tail end of my trip, it took me two weeks to recover.
I work in the hospital and it seems almost all my coworkers got it
I got my flu shot last september, and supposedly good for a while
I'm on edge about getting sick before the trip. I have a bad habit of getting something around March most years, I might have to isolate myself and be a hermit for a few weeks until then LOL
Hey yall I’ll be all over Japan the 1st - 21st . Def Tokyo the first week, nikko for a few days and then flying into fukuoka before I come back. It’s my 3rd time and know Tokyo pretty ok. If anyone wants to meet up let me know. I’ll be going to a lot of underground music shows, bands, Dj’s like I always do. Also done for food, drinks nature and just kickin it. Also might check out some haunted shit haha 👻. 🤙 😎 🇺🇸 🇯🇵
I'd love to see underground music shows 😍
Same!!
Haunted tours??
^^what she said 😱
If you’re close to shinjuku the 6th we can celebrate that night! I think you might be gone by then!
Hell yeah, hit me up
Maybe! I just know there’s haunted places all over Japan I wanna check out haha
do you have any bookmarked for tokyo?
is this still happening, just wanna make sure before i put it on my itinerary
yes! Ammo is making the reservation
Looking for anyone for dinner on March 4th 🙂
I’m free then
Aww I land on the 5th 🥲
hey, we still need to eat...so I am down for more dinner lol
yay! When will you be in Japan ?
I am doing all of my school work ahead of time...so I dont have to worry during my vacation....XD
same lmao
Always Get it, travel or none
Assume others won’t get vaccinated and they will get sick. Vaccines don’t prevent you from 100% but reduces mortality rate and increases recovery rate
I got mine a couple months ago already, so hoping it helps. Last time I traveled got sick the last 2 days and the flight home was horrible.
I got it today so I'm hoping it'll kick in just in time
what are you studying> XD
Business, its STEM though
cool. XD..
what do you study
I wish I did tech/software engineering...
instead, I am studying for a pediatric nurse practitioner.
are you man or woman?
xD
im a murse...male nurse
yeah lol
If anyone wants to go and try onsen, lmk I'm thinking of going to one too
Konichiwa 👋 American 34m. I’ll be trying to organize meetups for dinners, drinks, nature, clubs, live bands, Dj’s , onsens, foodie stuff , anime stuff and more! Schedule is Tokyo 1-6, gunma 7-10, Osaka 11- 14, Fukuoka 15 -18, then back to Tokyo 18-21 . Feel free to reach out if you wanna hang!
I am going to Hirayu Onsen, it is not in Tokyo tho
We have completely different trip schedules :((
Btw, yen is getting weaker again today. 🙂
doesn't it mean the inflation is growing too..
Possibly, good to exchange from USD, but not sure how much prices are in Japan compare to the last time I was there
Yeah yen is slightly rising for me
Death is certain don’t worry. Cell death happens the minute we are born. Healthcare is a good industry and actually useful
Hey yall! ( 26M) From Canada/ Hong Kong and will be in Tokyo on March 11 - 17. Would love to meet folks and go on adventures, explore the cities, eat great Japanese food that I don't usually get in Canada.
Would love to grab drink/dinner/lunch if you happen to be free.
I'm an artist and love adventurous experience!
PM'ed you
Ohh I'll be going too soon !
NPB preseason tickets go on sale tomorrow for the Yakult Swallows, going to try and see a game on 3/14 (Friday) if anyone is interested.
What day are u thinking for the arcade
When? Wondering if any one fron discord will be in the same area when I go there March 10
Oh no I'll be there in late feb
See posts, photos and more on Facebook.
imagine going Japan and coming back eating KFC
thats the last thing you will want to do.
Haha. Thats what I was thinking when I saw that reel..why would I go to kfc buffet in japan. I'll buy just one oiece to try tho
Id try it
They said around 6 I believe
When are you landing ?
the 21st
i'll still be here we'll go arcade and batting if you want~
yea id be down!
here let me friend u
me and the boys be around for the 7th for those drinks 😄
sorry but I do this lol, everywhere I’ve traveled I’ve tried McDonalds due to how much of a different it tastes or the different menu items
I mean I try hella food so that’s just me lol
Actually I was thinking abt doing this for the same reason lol
Ngl iv always ended up having McDonald’s atleast once in every country, best country with the best McDonald’s by far is Spain 🔥
Totally doing this too
How many clothings do yall bring? Sometimes I think i overpack a lot lol.. last time i went to japan I brought like 7 shirts, 8 underwear, 3 shorts and 3 long pants...my 1st time to japan, and realized most hotel have laundry
This time I will probably bring half of those..4 shirts (2 short 2 long sleeves), 4 underwear, 2 shorts, 2 long pants, 2 shoes lol.
I will buy the remaining at Uniqlo
I have about 20 pcs that I can mix and match, 7 underwear, 2 bras, 2 sets of workout clothes. I want to limit how much clothing I buy (my closet is getting overly full)
I do the same. In Asia, they have fish or shrimp burger, which they don’t have in South America. And in Italy, they have nutella burger haha
Same old story. Ended up buying anyway, because they are too kawaii 😭
2 long sleeve merino wool shirts
4 merino wool polos
2 dress shirts
2 blazers
1 winter coat
6 pairs of socks. 2 dress socks, 2 hiking socks, and 2 normal socks
3 merino wool sweaters
10 pairs of underwear
2 Jeans
2 dress pants
1 khaki pants
1 pair of gloves
1 pair of dress shoes
1 pair of hiking shoes
1 pair of walking shoes
1 vinyl carrying case
1 Poster tube
1 Toiletry bag
1 Excess toiletry bag
(Some of these items will be on my persons and not always in the briefcase)
Spread across my carry on and my checked.
My carry on is about 50-60% full atm
My checked is about 30-40% full atm
My personal item suitcase bag
- Cables
- Macbook pro 16
- Umbrella
- Chargers
- Important documents
wow what kind of magic luggage do you have?? your checked is only 40% full with all that?
Im like 90% with just 20 pcs more than half are summer clothes 😭
Briggs and Riley 29 inch checked and carry on
Great suitcase if you don’t mind spending $1000 for it
Do note that I frequently end up having 70 pounds in my checked when I fly home
😭 I have a tumi and I feel like it wastes alot of space
But I fly first class so I don’t pay the overweight fees
I am trying to bring less and buy more in Japan. How cold will it be in March? 2 years ago it was not cold, more like mild weather.
I also not worry about the excess weight going home coz i will be flying first too. Im bringing 2 empty luggages tho lol.
Im going to buy luggage there for all my souvies
My luggage was bought from Amazon lol
I don’t know where you will be
I’d bring fewer shirts and bring shirts that can be worn multiple times
Also probably no shorts
Tokyo, kyoto, Matsumoto Hirayu takayama kanazawa...
I like to sleep with shorts. So prob just bring 1.
I tried those pajamas, and they arent my fav lol.
Jacket prob just bring 1 thick and 1 thinner jacket. Not the really thick one
But I don’t buy from Uniqlo so I wouldn’t know their stuff well
Do you by any chance have a rec for custom suit tailor inntokyo?
I do not
Want to get custom suit, coz where I am at too expensive
im only bringing like 3 sets of clothes when i go and im gonna buy a bunch of clothes at korea and then bring them to japan
@livid aspen I believe if you go into Shizuoka there is a lot of textile work there so I'm almost positive you may find a tailored suit there
sorry i mean Shimokitazawa
Is it gonna be rlly cold early march??
I mm only taking a carry on w basics and I plan on buying a bunch of clothes in Japan
I assume it'll be similar to last year
No idea how it was last year
I just had most a thermal and a semi thick coat
Its most likely going to be in the low 50s
then just bought the rest there
If you plan to go to Hokkaido definitely will be cold judging by the snow right now
if you can bring checked baggae, bring empty one. lol, thats what I am doing...Im putting my 3 sets luggage and will check them XD
large-med-carry on and check them, and I am just going to fly with my backpack lol
like put the 26 inch inside the 29inch
I just paid for a checked one omw back so I can buy one there and fill it up 😭
i thought international flight comes with free checked?
usually its 2 free checked
From what I know almost every airline you have to pay for checked
unless you're like basic economy
Depends on the flight
Me too
are you flying basic econ or main econ?
if main econ, you should get free checked...not sure about basic
Tiramisu you were looking for suits right?
basic I think is none
yeah
but main/prem econ should come with 1-2
Believe Azabu Tailor might be up your alley
reading some reddit thread, and they mention that tailor
Same lol
Send suit pics or it didn't happen
isnt free check in for luggage?
i think for basic economy nothing comes with it, even carry on requires fee 😦
Oh I fly first class so I thought it was free
Yeah everything requires a fee
How often do you fly though? And do you use different airlines?
I fly every couple of months but short flights like 2-3 hrs
Rip USA domestic
It’s to Mexico lol
Smuggler
Smuggling fun
Anyways longer transcontinental flights tend to have 1 or 2 free checked bags. Check your airline terms
Yeah I did
Anyone here going to SnowMachine festival in Hakuba? March 4-9
2 more weeks till tokyo for meh ;3
you should be able to shore up some airline points from that too and its cheaper to upgrade your seat after your ticket vs up front. I was able to use my points for first class and its half the cost than it normally wouldve been up front
16 more days for me!
Anyone planning to go to animejapan in the end of march?
On March 6th I will be traveling to takayama early in the morning, but if anyone wants to make a plan for the 5th in the evening, great, I'll stay in shinjuku. 🙂
I might
Guys, this is probably a long shot, but does anyone want to do a helicopter tour over Tokyo in the second half of March?
https://skyview.airos.jp/en/tokyo/day/69
We can book a heli for 3, 4 or even 6 people
Depending on what dates you're thinking about I may be down. Won't be in Tokyo till late March 28th.
I'm down
On their page it's says 3 people tho
Sorry 4
Yeah there are multiple tours offered, i just linked one at random
Nice, i'll see how to organize this next week !!
I'll be there from 14th to 31st so that probably works - i'll come back to u
I'd be free most days 29th-31st - if you end up having to go sooner than that - no worries. But I'll go otherwise.
Do you know how much it is per person?
Is it 92,000 yen all up ?
the prices per person is written on the site but its depending on the size of the heli
Yeah I think I’m gonna back out sorry 😓 aud money is shit I just converted
Almost paying $250 for it
no worries, thought it was a long shot hahaha
But either way keep the dates 14-18 free
There will definitely be people willing to do it
But I’m on a tight budget travelling for a month almost
yeah + doing other countries, gotta dilute the expenses
If your into shopping we could definitely shop around some days have some drinks at bars in Shinjuku
I like looking around a lot 😂 I don’t plan to do a lot of shopping in Tokyo though
Definitely !!
I wanna go to the thrift areas
we could go around but only i do the shopping 😂
I also plan on doing a trip to asakusa one day
Yess HAHAHAHAH
I need to contain myself I might buy a few bits and pieces
But I’m gonna be shopping in Korea aswell gotta keep the suitcase maintained
what's up in asakusa ?
that looks really cool!
right ?! I just saw an instagram reel about helicopters and i figured why not doing a tour 😂
Hi!
I’ve been living in Shibuya for 20 years, and if you’re interested, I’d be happy to show you around! Feel free to reach out anytime! b

Anyone have the link to the trips spreadsheet?
Ahh finally thank you!!
Been looking for that everywhere. Wondering why it’s not posted?
Should be its own channel
Yeah it sucks you can't pin in it in the chat
@undone mulch I think you're the creator of the channel
Correct. Lemme see if I can pin.
Great! Thanks 😃
I do not have the ability to pin but I can paste the link in the first post.
Yeah I think only the server owner can pin messages
Also, the previous years sheets were wayyy better with bios, age descriptions, plans, etc. can someone add those? @loud scaffold @undone mulch
I am not the one who made the sheets.
Ahh sorry
Do you have an example? If I have time I'll create the new one copying the places
Man that would be so awesome yeah I think so one sec
@loud scaffold when you open it just scroll to the very top to edit in sheets app
yeah i copied it 🙂
Anyone here a Final Fantasy fan? Wondering if anyone want to join either SquareEnix cafe or Eorzea cafe
I'm creating the one you sent 😢
Ahh ok well up to you but you don’t have to. We can just re use this one no?
I'm already half way there ahah
Ok no worries lol. If you’re a sheets wizard have at it
We should make it its own channel if possible?

couple of dates i didn't understand but the rest should be right
Dude hell yeah thank you!
Gonna share the shit outta this
@loud scaffold just fyi looks like it’s not editable only viewable

Yeah theres a section for that on the new sheet
On the interests?

Found it thanks!
np

@dusk radish @bitter arch Seems like we're in Osaka on 15th, want to meet for dinner/drinks?
Sounds good to me
I was going to look at some live house gigs that evening maybe
But I’m game for anything

I think he means bands or djs

Hey made this post separately, but thought I’d repost here see if anyone is interested!
Hey everyone! I’m a 24 year old med student from the UK, heading to Japan from the 19th Feb - 9th Mar.
I’m in Tokyo for the later part of my trip, and have booked a few activities such as the RED VR experience in the Tokyo tower, Warner Bros experience, and was wondering if there was anyone up for doing some activities together.
I want to also experience going to an authentic Izakaya, karaoke, maybe a high rise bar and a club in Tokyo, so if anyone is looking to get a little group together one night id be happy to join or help organise something!
I’m also looking for someone up for a really fine dining teppenyaki booking, which I’ve realised I can’t book for just me, so anyone interested in going out for an experience like that feel free to send me a message! Might be quite expensive each but I’m thinking this is a very rare opportunity to have an incredible meal!
Excited to hear from anyone! And if anyone has any activities they’re planning and looking to maybe meet up with a friendly solo traveller, feel free to reach out!!
Thanks,
Finley
my dates/timeline are almost the same as yours! i’ll be in tokyo from 2/26-3/7 so def down to do the izakaya/karaoke thing, not sure abt teppenyaki
Alas I’m starting in Osaka and Nagoya/Ise, then Tokyo for a pit stop before heading to Sapporo for a trip down Tohoku. Won’t work out for those dates
All good! Have a great trip :)!
Hey I'd be down for checking out a high rise bar in Tokyo, There's one near Tokyo Tower that has a nice view called Stellar Garden. Never been but it looks nice!
I’ve seen that place it looks amazing, I’ve heard it’s pretty expensive though
I'm trying to look for a place really high up
count me in!
So far the plan is to go to;
Shinkyo Bridge
Toshogu shrine
Taiyuin
Futarasan shrine
Rinnoji temple
Tamozawa imperial villa
Kanmangafuchi abyss
I’m down to go
I get to Japan on the 24th so hope I can find something
This month?
Sounds good! I’ll be there from 5th to 11th
I'll be in Tokyo March 1-8th! I'm down to try Izakaya, Teppenyaki or high rise! I might go to some underground clubs with a friend so if you're interested, I can dm you later when she decides.
If you're interested in trying authentic japanese course meal Kaiseki, I'm going to GINZA ROKUSANTEI
I would love to join
I’d be so down to try some underground clubs. I’ll be there the last three days of your trip!

Can we get the following link pinned to this thread, please? 🙏
Im going to the ghibi museum too! Do you have a date planned for that?
Anyone will be in Izu from March 6-8?
Yeah I’m going on the 3rd:)
https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6314.html
There will be early sakura in Izu (late feb, early march)
Any chance for us to go?
im in izu from march 6-8 so i'll be there
Landing at HND and going to izu immediately sounds like a stretch for me, but doable … hmmmm
when are you landing?
|| I need to get tickets but shooting for 1pm arrival ||
up for some drinks, i'll be in tokyo starting 14th
Me toooo
Great spreadsheet, I love the idea.
For the record, I did not make the spreadsheet. (I just noticed it wasn’t pinned. Used to seeing them pinned in previous threads so…)
The spreadsheet is smart though
@sterile pasture suggest it from previous years and I copied the dates from the spreadsheet we used here
I’ve posted a few spreadsheets for previous monthly threads, but again, those spreadsheets were borrowed and edited from previous ones.
I pinned it before so I don’t know how it got unpinned 🤔
#1258197429539311667 message
Maybe it blew off in the wind
Does anyone know if there is a bar in tokyo that will show the formula 1 race in march ?
Looking for that too
In English would be perfect 😂
I could get a vpn and stream on the tablet but would like to watch in a bar
If we could get some kind of kick small app be written up for our unique needs and wouldn’t be to heavy to host.
Otherwise I'll have to vpn home
I can always take my tablet with english commentary
That would be perfect ahah
We will make it work 👌👌
Nvm for the Australian race I'm not in Tokyo 😂😂😂
Ah shame for me its the first time its at an reasonable hour haha
Yeah! 😂
Normally in the netherlands it starts at 6 in the morning 😅😅
Same here
Italy is 5
Damm
So big Ferrari fan being from italy ? 🙂
Hobgoblin shibuya had it on
Still deciding ahahah started to watch it since last year
If HP invites me to Monza I'll be their biggest fan for life
Yeah it was mentioned on reddit
It was sky sports commentary
Nice

my dates dont line up 😭 wish i coild go to this one
down!! depending on the date!
Who here visits the sumo tournament in Osaka? I am going on the 21st and 22nd
Same!
I'm going the 20th
🥲🥲🥲 enjoyyyy
Im on board with this!
Omg YESSS
Hi everyone! I’m Emi, 26F from Canada ~ I’ll be in Tokyo from March 5 to April 23! If anyone’s down to hang, hit me up :))) I like anime and ramen lol
Ahh in Tokyo too you speak French?
There’s so many things going on 💀
oui ?
Guys, anyone willing to go to teamlab planets ?? (I'm flexible on dates from march 15th to 31st)
Unfortunately, I dont 🥺
As No Canadian should 🫡
Westcoaster canadian! I'll be around if u ever wanna hang 🙂
You decide on a date for the helicopter ride over Tokyo / still doing it? Just trying to plan around a baseball game I may go to
You going to the Tokyo series MLB!?
Yes? but not sure haha. I just bought a ticket last Saturday for the Tokyo Giants v Hanshin Tigers for April 5th
It's in the Tokyo Dome... this Saturday tickets go on sale for the outdoor team for March 29th - tickets are cheap so was just going to buy in case I ended up wanting to go. You interested? @warped orbit
Yess, still planning on it - thanks for the reminder 😂 couldn't manage to find time to properly compare the choice of helicopters and dates tho, i'll get on it and DM u !!
From Canada too - would love to hang on 11th onwards! Will be in tokyo then!
Last time I was in Japan there was a WhatsApp or line group for each month. Does that still happen? Or is everything through discord now?
Ill be in Tokyo March 4th to 18th, from the UK :)
Yeah I've been here too when they make the line group... just depends on the initiative of the masses. I for one, lack ambition.
Maybe telegram would be better so people don't have to give their phone number
I'm okay with both so 😁
Unfortunately I’ll be gone by then! But would 100% recommend an MLB game in Tokyo
Some good techno, and rock shows on the 1st and 6th
Dm'ed
when are you planning to go? XD
Yea it felt like that was a bit better for more impromptu meet ups and easier to follow and just reach out to see what was happening that night over discord and the possibly many channels
If someone wants to take the initiative I'm in 😂
We will see a bit closer I suppose. I honestly only use line/whatsapp when I’m in Asian countries so I know very little about even making it.
Line Groups stopped being made 2.5 years ago unfortunately 😄
It was a pain to register to and even more of a pain to invite people to the group.
I'm still in a WhatsApp group from over 2 years ago last time I went to Japan 😅
Yeah the LINE groups died out eventually. Not many travellers have LINE and it was a pain remaking them every month to avoid the max member limit
The WhatsApps still exist https://linktr.ee/NotQuiteSoloTravel
There's an Insta group chat as well https://ig.me/j/AbZAxsNGjx7lLOyz/
I joined this one too but people rarely text on it
Wise man once said you must be the one to start the conversation
We have a private chat for girls meetup if anyone else wants to join!!💗
And a shy girl thought she was too shy🥲
Sounds like I was lucky enough to be in one of the last ones then. I’ll have to thank the random British guy who invited me into if I ever see him again
Random British guy sounds like habo
whats the benefit of the line group vs just using discord?
For me it is less likely to cause me to fall into different time sink holes. One big text chain vs different channels/threads/etc. for spontaneous “what people doing tonight or where people at” it feels more condensed. For more planned stuff discord is better organized
For those individuals that will be in Kyoto sometime during the first two weeks of March and want to do a Karaoke night, I just created a poll where you can vote for the date that you prefer:
#1341205892556787802 message
(If you vote, also be sure to leave a msg in that thread! 🙂)
3/3 in the evening (after 7-8) im going bouldering at bpump akihabara if anyone wants to join! there’s a free english workshop thing from 8-9
Indont know where to post, what do yall do with your sore feet after those walking? I saw some patches that you can use from FB reels, do those work?
i know my friends will lay on bed w their feet up against the wall for circulation or smth
the patches do help a little! i usually soak my feet and calves before using the patches
do you soak with just warm water or do you put anything, like epsom salt or something?
Just hot water if I dont have epsom salt available but epsom salt or some herbal feet soak is best!
😂 love it, modern solutions to ancient problems
Not that I don't mind using an ice cold Strong Zero at the soles of my feet for like a minute or two in the hotel room
Im bringing epsom salt then from home, and then patches and buy more patches in japan lol
This is what I do
If you have a tennis ball/softball you can use that to roll your foot out, I do it and it feels great after a long day
They sell some at donqui if you didn’t bring one
I actually do. Will bring those too.
Flying in 9 days and i have not packed anything lol
I leave in 2 and I haven’t even booked my hotel yet 😅😅😅 doing it rn
Yolo
I was gonna pack the night I leave lol
I fly in 9 days as well!
I started packing though
hotel price will be very expensive right now
vro about to commit sainthood.
trying to snipe last minute deals
For Tokyo/Osaka/Kyoto, that will not be possible.
do let me know what you got XD i might change my tokyo hotel XD
I apologize if you do manage to disprove me 🙂
Osaka is much more reasonable than Tokyo, I just picked up two nights there during the Sumo tournament at a Marriott property for about $165ish per night.
anywhere outside Tokyo i think is reasonable
Stay in Yokohama
Anywhere outside of any major area is reasonable.
Last week of March and first week of April hotel costs are crazy throughout most of the 23 wards of Tokyo though
Upwards to Omiya. Even Yokohama is pretty expensive and low availability
Same. I don’t even have my itinerary planned out yet either!!! 💀💀💀
Hey, is anyone here interested in tokyo nightlife? I'm down to join some people
i started packing like 2 days before i left lol
Reminding everyone about the live music sub on here. Lots of good events and nightlife
I paid like $240 for 6 nights
thats pretty good
I mostly stay in hostel private rooms arround 40/50 euro's a night
I know! I’ve seen people pay so much money and think it’s affordable
theres level to the game i suppose
Yeah idk why people pay hundreds of dollars for a room they're only gonna sleep in
one persons cheap is anothers persons monthly salary
True
Im mostly out only sleeping in the room seems a shame to spend much money on it
the bed is quicksave point thats all
and maybe a recovery room if u drank too hard last night
Late March/Early April 4* $85/night at Saitama Shintoshin for 5 nights that includes breakfast. Finding anything for $40 for March 26-31st in the Tokyo area is downright impossible. I'm spending two of my days near this area anyway for a concert.
i think thats when spring break starts right
Correct
Staying in Saitama 😭
yeahhh makes sense
Needs must
one... panchi....
If APA is going for $140/night in Nihombashi for March 26-31st.. Something is definitely up.
Anything planned for the 6th? @paper marlin also (and anyone else in Tokyo that day). I have a day to waste some time in Tokyo so just looking to fill it.
I think I’m going to a karaoke w some other people if you want to join!:)
there were a few cheap hostels in ikebukuro, im staying at a couple that are like $20-$30 a night but late feb/early march
Ehhh I donno about karaoke. I'm too American lol. Maybe I'll join you all though. When and where?
I didn't see anything even close to 40$ a night that wasn't either super out of the way or one of those capsule like hostels for end of march
Even though it's only meant to be as a bed or reset point - I'll pay for the location being central to make my decision of last train or not easier
Inthink my most expensive hotel that I am paying for my trip is Shinagawa Tobu Hotel, 5 nights $340 or something like that
Damn - that's super good
