Osaka to nara is very cheap train. You can also get the kansai pass if you plan on travelling around kansai like prev commenter suggested

JR pass doesn’t seem worth it anymore with the price increase. You’d have to be doing a lot of long Shinkansen rides in a short time and hardly getting to actually do things. I got it back in 2018 before the price increase and it was worth it back then though

It can be worth it for 21 days, you can take your time at places but you'd still have to keep moving around for the whole duration
