Most people will tell you Yamanote line and that's not a bad idea, but there are other lines that do cover a lot of the city like Ginza line

Just dont sleep 24 hrs before your flight and then not even on the 17hr travel to tokyo + another 12 hrs no sleep cause you want to do some stuff on the day.

So yeah, atfer ~ 48 hrs with no sleep you will sleep like a log and adjust pretty well the next day

it is two extremes. Asakusa is honestly boring for most things, Shinjuku is chaotic and not terribly clean either.

I just stayed literally next to Asakusa station 2 weeks ago

Getting to Shibuya and Shinjuku doesn't take a longwhile

and its easier obviously to get to the east part of the city

However the main thing for me is that the price in Ueno and Asakusa is typically cheaper than in Shibuya and Shinjuku

A lot of people like Shibuya and Shinjuku because of how close it is to the nightlife and bars, but I personally don't care about that stuff.

Those areas are also very tourist heavy, so I prefer to stay in Ueno and Asakusa since its a lot quieter.

When I booked my hotel next to Asakusa station (which was an APA hotel) it was $47 USD a night (final price after fees and taxes)
