Hello, I’m (23M) solo traveling from America and am interested in meeting up with people in Kyoto for the Gion Matsuri festival this weekend. Some people in the July thread were interested so I figured I’d make this it’s own thread for ease of discussion.

So from what I’ve read the actual parade is on Monday the 17th but they close some of the main streets in the district tonight through Sunday for pop up vendors and the like
