narrow steppe
brave venture
#

i already coded bootloader and some of disk driver

#

🙂

narrow steppe
#

Making your own bootloader is often not encouraged, but sure.

brave venture
#

i dont how to use gnu grub

#

and tutirial in os dev are very rare

narrow steppe
#

It has extensive documentation and tutorials, and the creators are in this server.

brave venture
#

thanks, can you tell me where r u from?

narrow steppe
brave venture
#

ok

limber ivy
brave venture
#

so no one wants to waste his time in this project

limber ivy
#

if you want to spend most of your time on actually making the os you should use multiboot (2) or limine

brave venture
#

ok

limber ivy
#

later you can make the bootloader

#

if you're up for the challenge

brave venture
#

the idea of the os that i want to create that the api that apps will use will be very easy

limber ivy
#

but if you don't want to waste time then use an already existing bootloader

brave venture
#

OK

#

even my bootloader coded from chatgpt 🙂

limber ivy
#

if you're telling the truth then believe me very few people here will have respect for you

brave venture
#

just the bootloader cause i didnt know how to use grub

brave venture
#

Thanks man

#

But the disk driver was hard and its not completly end

brave venture
#

thanks but my cross complier did not work perfectly

limber ivy
#

what's wrong

brave venture
#

I dont know, but i change 0xb8000 and 0xb8001 using c but nothing shown, but when i change them using nasm it work perfectly

limber ivy
#

then you could've asked here

#

what does the code look like

#

and what commands are you using to build it

brave venture
#

i didnt know this server i joined 1 hour ago
