I may want to make the modules print out on a table like the memory map actually
crazy
do u decollide the mmap entries o_O
I have functions that punch holes into the memory map
So I take the MB2 one
Put it into my format
And then I punch out all reserved regions
And then I sort it
Using bubble sort

Which for this is fine because it’s pretty much already sorted
o thats actually a nice way to do it
i just sort the reserved and make sure they dont collide with the usable ones
this is cool
agree
And since I know what I punched out
:O
Il give seperate maps for reserved and reclaimable regions
So it’s even easier to parse
As you don’t need to seperate those things
noice
do u scrap ur prekernel memory after its no longer needed
That’s the job of the kernel
To reclaim such memory
aha
I will however be fine grainy be marking it as reserved
So say the kernels initial stack
Will be a seperate region
Same for initial page tables + your kernels program memory
All that will be parseable
For PMM I will find the largest region and chunk off enough for a maxed out paging table
That has everything mapped
And then the rest is for the elf loaders stuff
o
i use the mb2 header as an initial stack
n o i c e
This protocol is gonna be amazing
You will be passed a pointer to a 4kb page
And that one page is a data structure with all data you need
i mean it werks
it just uses it until i bump alloc THE stack yk
then i just throw the whole thing away :P
cool shit
This works because i limit things like modules
So they can be fixed in place
Though

The memory map
Will have to be a pointer

god this thing is huge
😭
its almost as if
im making a kernel

just to load another kernel
GRUB and UEFI core
fix it
why your bootloader* always faulting in the end 😭
It’s the bootloader middle thingy
And it’s because there is nothing to do
So I call panic to make it hang
just do
for (;;)
{
__asm__("hlt");
}
I have that too
But the panic is cooler
And I worked hard on it

More colors on screen
that's one suicidal bootloader ngl
It also panics if it can’t get a frame buffer
@mortal bane but this thing is pretty cool
And should make i686 shit way easier for people

It’s also public domain
cool
okay so this protocol will support 64bit
later though
Since I will also have protocol conversion layers I will have 4 different tags you can give to modules
That will tell the loader how to treat them
And all other modules will be passed transparently to the loaded stage
KRNL32 means it’s a direct kernel using the 32bit variant of the protocol
KRNL64 is the same but for ya know
BCNVRT32 is a bootloader protocol converter that wishes to be loaded in 32 bit mode
And BCNVRT64 is the same yada yada
didnt screensho tit
it was because i was running tcg
oh
and didnt know it
no
i snuck in some slow code in the ported version of the allocator so u guys could never surpass me
jk ofc
2.3m ops/s
im fasting this doesnt affect me at all
can you gimme iso
FUCK
idk maybe
im gonna test on hardware
i added them to obos as well
before that
never noticed the slowdown

check gc
It’s done
It’s over
Now I have to fucking integrate this into priem
Also @cyan bison don’t forget m68k port
when thread rename
Once i686 port is done
And the codebase gets cleaned up

:slongesab:
no nitro 😢
im never giving my money to big corpo
are you hippie
no i am oberrow
is thread safe is real ???
so when evalynos smp
it should be "the dragon girl" tbh but 🤣
well

the heap is still ass
so it "deadlocks"
but not on a lock
because it ran out of memory / it got fragmented
so i cant do this test 🥀
this one may work tho 🔥
aint you moving away from kernel shell with the new os
The other OS was stack corruption
Now that it’s fixed
Damn cool
I can come back here to work on crap
And then get my real VFS
And then fork()
And then bash
Because I rushed so much fucking shit 💀
I also need to put a heap rewrite in there or finish my port of the OBOS allocator
But I have other ideas for my heap that could be better/faster
atleast it runs :D
Exactly
And the kernel shell is just for debugging and tests
So I don’t have to hard code the sequences
Everything actually important happens in userspace
Btw @fiery tangle I think your pretty cool
How’s your projects been going
Thanks :)
Haven't rly been working on it the last few days cuz i am working on my nuclear reactor simulator
Oooo :o
:O
Discord should have en option to not turn ":D" into ":D"
okay what
":D"
bru
You can change that
discord is trolling me now
:D
me too, I don't have Nitro tho xD
understandable
Awe
Orbs r nice tho
3 days of nitro go brrrr
My avatar decoration rly matches well
Does this mean u need money for tech support?
This is my avatar decoration on fedi
Nah just been taking a break from helping random strangers

Whats fedi?
Do you know mastadon?

Ive never played botw
only totk
It’s really fun
I prefer totk imo tho
Mainly because I can’t flurry rush worth a damn in BOTW but I could do it on almost every attack in TOTK

ooo botw
gives me nostalgia
wth is this malformed emoji
i grinded botw
got to 90% completed
the good ol days before osdev
I am only 14 so idk if i can say god ol day but
...
2 sec
Well I'm 14 too
My good old days are when I were 10
Or before 10
Oh xD
Oooooo
I’m the age before 18 turning 18 in two months
I got a Linux laptop with Dolphin when I was 6
🔥
I really hope this cold stops beating me down so I can commit the changes that fix the fucking crashes
Lol
How cold is it for you rn?
No I meaj
Outside my cabin it's like -24 rn
Ahh
It let off me just enough to fix the shit
Just binge watch YouTube and you will be fineee
I’d rather talk to cool people like you and @fiery tangle
I wonder if I should share my internal dev server here

It’s been a bit dead recently but
It used to talk a lot about my kernel and other shit to not clog this channel up
Well its easier to follow development here ig
I think most peoples project-dedicated servers is that xD
Yeah but for like debugging or just other misc stuff about the project / shitposting
I’m a frequent shitposter
Pokemon :3
My childhood
well
i am still a child ig
but early childhood
tho
I found my old 2ds and pokemon cards yesterday
Just bits and pieces of shit
What can your kernel do rn btw?
wth
oh
its private
now it should work
for how long have u been working on this btw?
great website xD
Also whats the <@&1466962950559498270> role?
Because I was the first person to make a driver for FRED
Ahh nice nice
Whats FRED?
An IDT for rich people

It’s only on really expensive brand new laptops
And only recently the bochs emulator
Here is le manual
Ah
Ah. What laptop do u test it on?
I used Intel SIMICS
Because I’m not rich

Which is a really fucking annoying emulator to use
But I used it to get my role
ah
💀
I mean idk if its really that annoying, I got it to boot my os without too much trouble (though I wanted to see what the xhci tracing was about but then when I tried to look into it apparently it doesn't even have xhci?)
Its more so to figure it out rather than use it
Once you have the steps down it’s not bad
But it took me a bit to get it booting AND with FRED enabled
the i need to do nuclear reactor stuff
#575111534825439252
as it is for school
btw
for how long have u been working on this btw?
You can check my git repo
And goto the first commit

https://git.evalyngoemer.com/evalynOS/evalynOS/commit/00421909b5ef629ed39a9108a0ca2b017fc4dfba @fiery tangle
Wow thats a lot of progress in 7 months 🤩
Btw my git server is open if you wish to use it :3
i might not but cool :3
Now I am imagining this :3
:3
wait really??
how do i set it up
:3
Just make an account
ive never used that emoticon in my life but i feel like it was appropriate
Email should work and everything
Here lmfao
shit mb
okay, so i just make an account?
5gb limit is plenty
my kernel isnt even 20k
Yes yes
Just don’t do anything stupid there and your good lol
i made my acc
i wont do anything stupid
ill be very respectful 🤗
@hazy saddle how do i commit to the repo
do i just do a git commit and it will automatically clone the commit from the github repo?
You need to add your ssh public keys and stuff
Like GitHub to do pushing
But you have to make a repo and add the server as a remote
And then do a git push
my brain
cannot
ill figure it out lol
imma first update the repo on github though
because its a few weeks behind
while fluxer is shitting its self
ive made a project thread on fluxer

i literaly cannot post about it there
because its brtoken
unless it just sent it like 20 fucking times
which i hope it did not

here we go
@gilded fjord i saw you typing on fluxer. the platform is on its knees and i can barely send or recive messages there
but i do wana be on the list
& just got the message part way typing that
sure thing! ^^
once they get the mobile app working and the server kinks done il me archiving this thread and my discord accoount
😭
@gilded fjord i tried to add the osdev server to the front desk section and the entire fluxer servers crashed

there we go ;3
yeah i think some big community moved over and it crashed the whole thing lol
As soon as they mobile app is up I’m pumping them full of my 5 dollars lmfao
They need the support
hopefuly they can keep it sustainable
also i want to join that crap too
how do i even join this idiot
@peak cloak
wait you can do that
the epstein list

nah this one @clear bison
Ah
YOOOOOOOO
i wanna be on the list tho my project is utterly irrelevant
and nothing was done ever
I’m sure lukflug or mint would love to see it there lol
no way
Why not ask lol
WHAT WERE THEY THINKING
nah i want my own server
WHEN I CAN REGISTER

oh no their servers are really really cooked
i dont wanna get banned for pinging mods
insane
but you literally added fred first you have a reputation
im some idiot making a powerpc thing

Trueee
And I have more plans to expand my FRED driver
yish
i dont think im the first powerpc fanatic here either, some people definitely deserve to be on The List™ more than me and my non existent idiot
cool
FRED has a lot of docs on shadow stacks
So potentially I could get thoes in kernel mode?

allegedly
I didn’t read much in that part of the docs
Basically fake Discord with no E2EE 😔
discord doesnt have E2EE
Oh :(
it seems my FRED driver has broken on recent commits
and i cant getg bochs to work

the original commits works in SIMICS but not bochs
infact it cant even detect that FRED is supported on bochs
and bochs is making my ears hurt with its coruption crap
it dosnt crash on SIMICS but somthin is locking up and not getting IRQs
so hopefuly isnt too bad of a regression to fix
Just throw some print statements on all the FRED shit and see where it locks up and if it’s getting any IRQs or whatever
Il possibly even add a -DFRED_DGB compile option for those prints
I have a reputation here to uphold with this /s
The amount of people that think most chat apps have E2EE is frightening
Because no. They don't. There's like one single chat app most people use to which this applies, but it's WhatsApp and you already know you're getting zuckerberg'd there.
At least it has A/V E2EE
but yea ig
FYM A/V
Audio/Video
discord audio and video can do E2EE
Oh wow something that's extra hard for them to analyze compared to all the text traffix
I'm sure they didn't already know your entire life's story from the text /s
Be for real discord has 0 interest in processing a/v
probably
ah ok
also what do ppl want that isnt already in Matrix?
its that it dosnt properly replace discord
Fluxer is a Discord replacement, Matrix is explicitly not
I know but for people who doesn't want to use Matrix as an alternative to Discord it seems pretty feature complete to me.
its buggy af and missing tons of moderation stuff
its buggy af
Like the protocol or implementations?
missing tons of moderation stuff
Oh...

I wrote a hella long message but it didn't make sense
Did bochs ever get FRED support in tge first place
Bochs is outdated asf
they got it a week ago
lmfao
fluxxer pls work
telegram
That's just russion non-E2EE by default
slightly better than their government mandated "max" anyway
If you use Telegram for something that needs opsec you're a fucking moron
Signal
Just use signal
yes
But yeah @clear bison https://github.com/bochs-emu/Bochs/commit/7a0d34c14801709bed87e476faae6b5a620a213f
…(#701)
Implementation of Flexible Return and Delivery (FRED) ISA extensions
Co-authored-by: Stanislav Shwartsman [email protected]
They “”should”” have it
But somthing is clearly severely fucked
It’s on CPUID
My source code does check for it
But the latest commits have broken it
Well the getting of IRQs
I’m gonna look into it later once QEMU TCG has FRED
It dosnt crash or anything
Just locks up so I presume it’s something really basic
I mean
I guess talk is cheap

send patches
I am nowhere near well versed enough in the QEMU codebase though
I can’t even find the non i386 shit on the codebase is

i may take one extra day of break here
it atleast gives me time to read some VFS papers
which i should do
instead of just imagining what a VFS is
so we're both having a break eh
(I'm forced though, I'll have classes til late late(
take breaks
burnouts are not a fucking joke
i abandoned my os that had userspace
and almost working gcc
I could tell the second you said you prioritised osdev over drinking water 🥀
osdev is never that serious
😭

Hey it’s also partly being lazy to get the water
I have to leave my room to get water
The osdev is right there
I should get back to osdev
Did you ever get bash ported?
That’s my main goal
Hopefully I can make it work
I may also need to revisit my VMA as it’s mostly correct it could do a bit better at collation and edge cases especially on MUNMAP
fuh nah
but listen if i go back to osdev id be doing the same shit
linux like shit
using mlibc
and limine
I’m pretty close to bash

Just a VFS and a fork exec away
I got doom and bad apple working so
And I technically do have a VFS
And I COULD extend it a bit
But like it’s super fucking ass
I should do it proper
And also make the proper /dev/tty devices :p
And I should add a pipe driver
i remember back in 2023 I was working on a kernel and this shit had TTF font rendering baked in the kernel :^)

the other one had shaders
but no gpu
it made text gay
but i had fun
I'm still deeply thankful to Qwinci for explaining paging to me
Paging is kool
I lowkey want to make a uACPI project that just gives you free paging :p
yeah it is
Like here you go have paging have fun
but i REALLY REALLY did not understand it
And I would public domain it

It would be lacking a ton of features tho
Just map and unmap for 4kb plain x86-64 pages on 4 levels
if u do mmu then i would do uhhh
kernel gui library :^)
Something something CosmosOS C#
Nah that would make things worse

TBH making free paging will allow more slop
But like it would be funny
just glue up projects together
And maybe allow SOME people to get further without slop
Kernel GUI library honestly would just be bad all around lmfao
uacpi, your mmu, my graphics, flanterm, limine, mlibc

Make actual graphics
Maybe do pcie VGA adapter driver
then I'd make generic drivers
:^)
imagine a world where you have interface that kernel has to implement and drivers use that (it won't exist, it cant)
but i saw a guy doing it
maybe it is possible to create such interface but i don't have enough knowledge to assume things
If your thing needs to do paging
You add a way for people to fill in a paging function for example
Etc etc
Or like allocate physical memory
forward me some plz
Im supposed to start reading on this too instead of just procrastinating
@hollow crater this is the sunVFS paper
I think @cold barn knows some other good papers for this?
o I read that one already o_O
That’s the only one I know of
😔
Not specifically. Any I know would already be in #curated-resources, and I think that's the only one there. There might be some more on the (an?) osdev.wiki page
😭
aha fair i will check there
thaaaanks
Then all I know is that paper and the general idea of FD to intermediate FD that has the seek information etc so multiple FDs can point to the same data. And then that points to a vnode that implements all of the backend functions and abstracts it away
Okayyyy
So tomorrow I’m gonna make the VFS
And I’m gonna fix up a lot of the shit
And and
Il make my own shell
And il call it
“csh”
For crap shell
What
It will be in userspace atleast
:p
@cold barn can you elaborate 😭 💀
I don’t wana implement fork right away
It may be easier to make some stupid crap shell
csh is used already
Fuck
that works I think
Shitty TTY
Ir some crash
This will be a bandaid stopgap before I get bash
Just so people can’t clown on me for using a kernel shell
🥀
And so I can clown on other people with a kernel shell
XD
or just get bash lmao
its not hard
don't be
And that I will need to rework
you'll need fork for your shell too
True
Wait now
I was gonna make a syscall
That would spawn a process and auto wait the current process on it
💀
I mean afaik fork would be copying all of the threads current structures and then marking all the pages as CoW and then in the new thread restore all the registers the same besides the return value
Ehh the VFS needs work first

I mean I think bash can work without fork?
Well it won’t do much
where's "you have not win!!! jajajaja!!!"
also crap why did it scroll up to something from 2025
mobile discord tweaking out BAD
i ground*
yayayayayay
Okay so
Hm
I wonder if I can “””port””” bash
And just have it compiling
And going to a prompt
Get the build system stuff out of the way atleast
@soft snow You just got bash ported? What’s the rundown for the build system crap for a static build? Should I just have to point bash’s configure and make to my cross compiler?
nvm i made a typo
lmfaoo
also i saw manafarn mainlined in there
gg
crap
i possibly need more sysdeps
yeahh
ive gotta get ready to goto my grandmas
But getting this port to the point of compiling and loading before burning into a fiery blaze could be good
Atleast then I can get the list of sysdeps early
And architecture things nicer
I was editing the config file btw
And I copied a Linux chunk
But forgot to paste it twice
And then I edited most of it with my kernels info
But left in the Linux bit

Really easy.
Exactly like that.
static build
either have onlylibc.a, or useLDFLAGS=--static
what?
I think I only have libc.a?
Also whoops I forgot to put the static flag too XD
Ehh
Il do that when I fix it
Thank you thank you
I think it’s a Linux header spesificsly?
I snooped into astrals folder
No it's glibc my god
Its not Linux
Its glibc
glibc option m

That’s what the symlink one said
Crap that’s the one with an s
💀
Sorry @soft snow
Lol
Managerms
i presume this is because i dont have them installed?
let me run the script
crap
You don't need to build Linux kernel headers for glibc ext last I checked
maybe Im just stupid but ye
Correct
This is only a thing if you enable the linux option
true but it cant hurt to get it working
Do that after you've implemented all of POSIX
Linux requires a LOT of random extras
well it seems to compile. i just want it enabled so i can implement them later?
I just hope you don't encounter some random thing that detects a Linux feature via m4 then depends on it

Seems like unnecessary effort for no gain.
Why even enable it when you can't use it?
(and might potentially suffer from the linux feature detecting Emma mentioned)
glibc and posix it is then
Well that's what I have enabled atleast.
huh??
they like to delacre their own implementations
you have to add a bunch of ac_cv things that disable their functions to tell them libc has them
or you have to figure out where it detects that libc has them, and satisfy those checks
Ended up patching it to satisfy it and presume the correct one. But then it ended up having like 20 different things namespace colliding
Then I tried to power busybox

That was way worse lmfao
Even an all no config wants a fuck ton of Linux crap and I got tried after the 7th abi bit and then it giving some random file being missing error
Does your os run in virtualbox?
It should?
If so I can try to help port toybox or bash
That would be amazing
I just need to get the stupid thing to compile so i can throw sysdeps at it proper
Want me to give you an ISO to test before you grab my entire thing and build the toolchain?
you might wanna update this link to the codeberg btw
Page faults in random crap
💀
@cold barn I have some older builds on my file server you can test in the meantime
ok cool
Updated to my self hosted git server
what disk controller should I use?
ide
I don’t have any disk drivers so it should be fine as long as limine supports it
I plan to do NVME though
you'll want at least one other if you want to support reading the ISO. which you could just use limine for I guess
I have plans to do AHCI & USB at some point
Possibly after networking though
But that’s all after x11
Btw what is toybox? More modern busybox I presume?
ok yeah, cd0e53926a.iso works
public domain alternative implementation of busybox, by one of the former maintainers
If it breaks for the dev branch let me know the errors and I will patch it
Ooo that looks excellent
If bash gives you issues 100% go for that
I’m rebuilding the libc on my laptop rn
Including GCC and core utils

I just need an x86_64-elf right? or do you have a gcc patch
I have a script that will build gcc core utils and mlibc with all my patches automatically
You just have to add it to the path manually
It seems some mirrors are being an ass so I had to re run it a few times so it could grab the source
where is it?
I can also just build the toolchain myself
is the gcc patch based on a git version, or a specific release?
Yes
A release it will grab the tarball for you
And I have a patch in the directives
You can do it yourself
Should be src/patches
I'm just using build-libc
also if you have fast internet, I've found that downloading gcc-*.tar.gz is faster than gcc-*.tar.xz, since the xz takes aaaages to unpack
Crap I forgot my laptop charger
I can use my phone charger and it should keep it alive
TIL I can pick it up tomorrow
in /root/evalynos/src/libc/binutils-2.45.1/build/ld I get: make all-recursive make[1]: Entering directory '/root/evalynos/src/libc/binutils-2.45.1/build/ld' Making all in po make[2]: Entering directory '/root/evalynos/src/libc/binutils-2.45.1/build/ld/po' make[2]: Nothing to be done for 'all'. make[2]: Leaving directory '/root/evalynos/src/libc/binutils-2.45.1/build/ld/po' make[2]: Entering directory '/root/evalynos/src/libc/binutils-2.45.1/build/ld' make[2]: *** No rule to make target '/root/evalynos/src/libc/binutils-2.45.1/ld/scripttempl/.sc', needed by 'eelf_x86_64_evalynos.c'. Sometimes the script file is annoying and if you run it twice it will kick it back 💀
genscripts is a big user of scriptteml/${SCRIPT_NAME}.sc, so maybe something went wrong there or somewhere that called it?
Maybe?
All I know is my shell script works and I never wana touch it
Getting binutils and GCC was a pain
CFLAGS_FOR_TARGET="-march=x86-64 -mabi-sysv"
CXXFLAGS_FOR_TARGET="-march=x86-64 -mabi-sysv"```
shouldn't this be set in your port?
also I kinda doubt you even need that
also I highly recommend using wget -c -O instead of wget -O, so you won't redownload the files
yeah that's the problem
I'm going through it right now trying to find odd looking stuff to see if we can fix the "you gotta run it twice" issue
Ahh
To be fair it happened on a fresh install on my laptop
And then never happened again
here is a latest iso
if [ ! -e "${SRC_DIR}/.got-binutils" ]? just verify a checksum of it, or trust in wget -c to make sure the file is properly downloaded. if it is partially fetched, wget will finish it. if it's fully fetched, it will exit(0)
That’s to prevent redownloads 💀
yeah, wget -c will too
Because I did not know about that argument of wget
ah
I do hash checks for my doom port which has a script file similar to this
I’ve been considering swapping to meson soon™ which should fix a lot of this madness
Btw thanks for helping PCC
eh, it's not that mad, it just seems like you're not super familiar with shell tools
if [ -d ${BINUTILS_DIR}/build ]; then
if [ "$(ls -A ${BINUTILS_DIR}/build)" ]; then rm -rf ${BINUTILS_DIR}/build
mkdir -p ${BINUTILS_DIR}/build
fi
else
mkdir -p ${BINUTILS_DIR}/build
fi```
this can be replaced with `rm -rf .../build; mkdir -p .../build`
rm's -f will make sure it never fails assuming you have write access
even if the file doesn't exist
I might take a hack at rewriting that script later, or maybe even converting it to a makefile if you'd prefer I try that. sometimes build systems get weird when using makefiles though, so I'll just fall back to a shell script if it gets too bad
yeah I've made like 6 shell package managers so I know a liiiiittle bit of tips and tricks :)
Oooo neat
I have considered making a mini Lua build system that would be a glorified list of other scripts to run and then they define the steps to execute them
so similar to what Oasis linux does?
Which would atleast be more standard than what I have rn and would integrate with other build system
I guess? It would be like a list of things and one may be “build doom” and it would target a Lua file in that directory and execute the thing and then that would call into make etc
Just as a wrapper for all the other things
yeah I've run build-libc 3 times total now and it's not changing the result
I'll try a manual build+patch
.
To be fair this is designed for arch Linux and I haven’t tested elsewhere
I mean in the earlier days I’ve had issues with Debian friends
This would be amazing
I also have repos on my server that I based the patches on if you want to skip that step
well, I'm going to rework your script first I think
and I'll probably keep the patch method just since that's the way it will actually build
I think patches are better versed downing from my repo as it’s more trust worthy
also btw, $PWD can be manipulated so $(pwd) is safer
do you care about how many spaces per tab? I usually use 2 but I can change it to 4 to keep with the old script style
I like using 4 spaces and no tabs but I can always change it later if you wish to write it your way
Not like the codebase has any standards anyways
(That’s gonna be part of my plan when cleaning up everything)
nah, I can just set-tab-width 4 lol. and yeah, I also expand tabs to spaces
Tabs in my editor show things in the white space and it drives me mad whenever I have to write go which enforces real tabs
got a crash on real hardware
i think its because i forgot to patch this

and well it dont like poor paging tables
lmfao
yayyy it fixed it
and the heao deadlocked again because it was too slow and the heap fragments way too much

heao

I 100% need to rework my heap
kids these days with even more slang terms that are unnecessary yet they somehow help with performance
more memroy allocations
But atleast that’s a known bug where it gets stuck in an infinite loop and NOT a thread safety issues
that helps
Basically the heap can get too fragmented and then it tries to call the PMM
But it won’t get enough from it by mistake
And cause issues™
BUT it’s a known bug
I’m not fixing
Because I’m gonna completely redo that code
:p
why not
EWONTFIX
nevermind
So there isn’t a point when it only happens on stress tests
Like I either fix it and waste time
Or I just redo it like o was gonna anyways
// TODO: fix everything with 'DO NOT FIX - REWRITE SOON' commented
dedotated wham to rhum this survhur
What
Honestly this wouldn’t be the won’t ERRNO code
Along with ESNDPATCH
minecraft
Btw @cold barn how goes that script file? Need anything from me etc?
I may be going to sleep in 40 minutes or so
nah i don't, I kinda got distracted but I am coming back to it every now and then lol
average OSdever activity
Based
I’m playing Pokemon fire red rn after fixing that bug
I should upload it to git rn tho lol
oh btw PCC you did get on the dev branch right?
the main branch needs to be updated soon

i think its 3 other times people have grabbed the wrong one lmfao
tho for this iirc only a few mlibc patches happened
so should be fine either way
Ngl @peak cloak if you get your kconfig clone going well I think I wana use it
Would be cool to be able to enable/disable certain drivers etc
its usable now
gregloader's config works fine
idk it at least doesnt crash in my experience
true
theres currently no option to disable or enable entries if some item is toggled tho
idk it might be necessary for it to not look weird-ish
Okay idea
Let things have a dependency on other things
But also have an option to show things as greyed out instead of hidden
Because it’s really annoying inside of kconfig
And have a key to force enable it by toggling the dependancies when greyed

Btw what file does it generate at the end
i mean honestly first consider if you need the "if i enable this tihs appears" thing
a sec
something like this i guess
the goal for it is to get loaded into a makefile as an include
or even a bash script, why not
Ooo looks good
Honestly borscht is a genuinely good project
Like I am very proud of you
how so
Easier to add to other projects
oh, no not yet 💀
Yeah it’s fucking ass
I mean I like @peak cloak s more
