i feel the need to point out that that little hack i mentioned here was putting some useless function call in a specific place because otherwise sending commands to the ahci controller wouldn't work for some reason. I just noticed that i didn't zeroed out the command structure so now i don't need weird hacks anymore :)

it was a long run

this is the first sector of a usb stick read from a linux machine

and this is the output of an acer laptot running my os

i'm gonna call it a win

i'm not sure about those random FF bytes all around

but if you ignore that the data is all there

and i'm fine with it for the moment at least
