Yes, we both use Wormhole Monorail. Right now my teammate still can’t quite keep up with me, so I’m not satisfied with this run yet — I won’t be posting it for now, though I do have the full recording.
As for the kill count being lower, maybe that’s just a trait of the Monorail setup. We kill aberrations the moment they spawn and immediately move on to the next stage — we never go out of our way to kill extra enemies, so that’s probably why our kill counts are so low.
Also, destructible environment objects can count toward the kill stat. So builds like Void Light, which rely on explosions, tend to rack up a much higher kill count.

In boss rush your pylon buffs really help boost damage of you pick carefully. Reading bosses and learning that side of the game is key, it's good to feel underpowered whilst learning bosses. Damage comes with builds, I can point you in the right direction with that if there's particular weapons or skills you enjoy.

I’ve stared trying to pick my buffs better. Like when running ritualist look for skill cooldown and status dmg. For hunter/gunslinger weak spot and crit

Yeah you can get lost for hundreds of hours build crafting you can make most things viable for apocalypse if you have a sound grasp of the core game mechanics so it's extremely versatile

That’s one of my favorite things about it. There’s no “one way” there’s so many different things you can do

And even an inexperienced builder like me ca have fun with messing around with all the features ha

Just thinking though. If I had to choose a favorite it’d be handler.

2. first one I ever chose (because of dog) and as a mostly solo doggo was a lifesaver more times than I could count. Also made exploring less lonely ha

Also just a very handy starter archetype. Free revive, bar buggy dog (before Reggie even sells black cat ring). Another body to draw aggro if needed. Also gives movement speed buff lol

So yeah if I had to choose a favorite I’d probably say handler just cause that’s what I’m most comfortable with. But I prefer to experiment with all classes and mess around with them

On a video dude, also explain to me exactly how always by round 3 or 4 you have perfect pylons. I managed to do that twice in about over 100 attempts.

First of all, I actually wanted to ask you guys the same thing—how do you manage to get such perfect pylons so consistently? If you're asking how I do it, the answer is… I don’t. I’ve got about 1,700 hours in the game. The pylons look great in the video because if they weren’t, I wouldn’t have been able to run that fast in the first place. So naturally, the runs that make it into the video are the ones with good pylons.

Also, that video was recorded almost half a year ago, and there are plenty of mistakes in it—including a mis-click on the pylon. But honestly, my skill has been declining lately, and I’m not sure I can ever go faster anymore.

As for the pylons, I don’t really need a perfect setup—three or four decent ones are enough. So I probably don’t have as many hours as you do.

Yeah, when I play solo Void Light, I also keep it at power level 18. Hellfire deals really solid damage because it shares the same unique scaling as Void Light—all damage gets applied twice.

Sunken Witch is the boss I least want to see — second only to Lydusa, who makes me reset the moment I see her. She wastes so much time because the little pigs in the arena steal Void Light’s projectiles, making it nearly impossible to kill her before she escapes.

As for Mothermind, I think it’s acceptable if she breaks only one piece of the floor before dying.

Actually, when it comes to joining new players’ games to support them, I spent my first 500 hours or so doing exactly that. I was already semi-retired from the game before the first DLC dropped, only coming back to try out the new content. After the DLC3 boss rush mode was released, I got back into the game more seriously — up until about half a year ago.
I haven’t spent all my playtime on speedrunning. In fact, I’ve spent a lot of time in my local community guiding new players through the 19-boss gauntlet — they needed the XP — and also playing co-op boss rushes with friends. A lot of what I know came from those sessions.
As for new builds, I’m actually a build guide creator in my local community, and I focus a lot on comparing build strengths through precise number crunching. It’s just that translating everything into English is pretty time-consuming, so I don’t post my builds here much — partly because I’m not entirely sure what the community here is looking for in a build.

Maybe it’s like how I’ve been focusing on speedrunning — I’ve put together some fun and unconventional builds here and there, but overall, my attention tends to lean more toward the stronger, more optimized setups.

I think the fundamental difference between these two builds comes down to Supercharger + Follower for energy regeneration versus Extender + Prism. In theory, Supercharger has a slight edge in performance and feels smoother to play, but its energy regen is very tight—you need precise execution to just barely fill the gauge each time.
Extender, on the other hand, is more forgiving. Even with a few small mistakes, you can still fully restore your energy. It’s slightly weaker in raw output, but the upside is that it doesn’t waste the firearm charge from Bulletstorm. However, when your skills are on cooldown, you can’t empty the entire magazine within the Butcher’s Fetish duration—and that’s exactly where it falls short compared to Supercharger.

Yes, the reason I put together this build from the very beginning was to lower the barrier to using Brutality Void Light, so that more new players could experience how fun this playstyle is. Boss Rush is the best method for XP and materials. The mode and difficulty is bound to what you feel comfortable to pull out victories otherwise you missing a lot of XP since if you fail on a run a good chunk of it goes into waste.

Gauntlet will always yield the best XP possible and its my preferable and recommended way of doing things such as prism XP.

To clarify some confusion the bombs with that configuration are having extremely high critical rate, natively the bombs have quite high critical chance but using what im using it aplifies it even more,usually they sit at arround 90% critical chance from my testings on the bombs. This doesn't get reflected on the Void light proc but it's bound on the bombs. As for the speed I'm starting with having a plus 73,7% extra move speed once momentum driver engages. 100 is the cap. Realistically at level 3 velocity I'm moving like having speed demon legendary.

No, you might not even know this — Void Light’s missiles don’t benefit from mod crit chance at all. In your setup, the actual crit chance for Void Light’s missiles is only about 15%. Someone actually analyzed every single missile crit throughout your entire speedrun. They imported the video into editing software and frame-by-frame counted every damage number that appeared from the Void missiles. The result surprised me a lot — the ratio between crits and non-crits was very telling.

Also, someone confirmed that you increased your character’s overall movement speed by about 10%. I didn’t believe it at first, but they convinced me. After the boss fight in world 3, you used a consumable. Then in the basement of world 4, you performed a vault. They tested both actions over a hundred times under normal conditions. For the consumable, you took 85 frames, while the normal average is around 94–95 frames. The vault speed was even more interesting — it convinced them that you boosted the character’s speed, not by secretly using the Hyperactive legendary prism, because the HASTE effect does not increase vault speed. The average frames needed to vault that railing with your setup is about 103, but in your video it only took 93 frames. Even accounting for video recording discrepancies, the gap is too large — especially since the real-time timer in the top-right corner confirms you completed the vault in just 93 frames.

As for your normal movement speed, I didn’t notice anything off there. But here’s something else you probably don’t know: the game’s built-in movement speed cap is 100%. You’ve been running way over cap without even realizing it, yet you never used a higher movement speed ring. I assumed you would need something like stagger level -1, but it seems you’re completely unaware of this.

By the way, the base movement speed in your setup is: Prism 10% + Relic fragment 10% + Hilled Steam 10% + Dark Cider 6.66% + Swiftness 15% + Heart of the Wolf 10% + Momentum Driver 15% + HASTE 7% = 83.66%. You only need level 2 Speed trait to hit the cap — because HASTE does increase movement speed even though it’s not shown on the stat sheet.

In your video, there were also other issues, but I think these two points alone already prove that you cheated in the speedrun.

I don't know if that matters or not but for the shake of the speedruns I'm playing at 1080p with a 5090 we noticed something a while ago with Sugar that having more or less frames can result to some game engine anomalies, we saw that on 60 frames we couldn't fly far enough on curtain points to perform a glider land.

The actual crit rate is 15%. If you don’t equip Gambler’s Burden and a secondary archetype, and only rely on mod crit chance, then not a single crit will occur.

The floating orb of Void Light deals 75 base damage. If detonated, it increases to 300. The orb’s base damage does not scale with weapon level, and its damage calculation is different from that of Void Light’s bombs. The bombs treat “all damage” as a separate multiplier and calculate it twice, whereas the orb includes both mod damage and explosion damage in the double calculation — only physical damage is calculated once.
As for the missiles, they deal 250 base damage, scaling up to 750 with weapon level. If enough damage is absorbed, it increases to 3000. That’s the base damage of the bombs. These bombs do not benefit from mod crit chance at all.

In the video I recorded, Hellfire hit 132 times, and only 47 of those hits were criticals — which is exactly the normal 40% crit rate.
