Download server is Sony if your on Ps5, you don't download the game from Epic.

If this does need a patch for Sony, they have to send it in to Sony, it could get put in the system immediately, weeks or with some games never... Lol.

Since this is a networking issue I highly doubt a patch fix is needed, just a reset of the servers even.

I got into the show, cause of the spirit of the two brothers. Something at the time of bringing FMA in my life I did not have anymore due to CPS and me being adopted into family at a young age before my brothers were born... Etc.

I am Eastern Canada, my buddy I am waiting to play with to get all Achievements is in Chicago.

It works for me, but i deal with the lag of a free vpn

I don't have NAT unknown, but I am experiencing an enormous amount of failures when trying to connect to public boss rush sessions. I think out of 20 or 30 attempts, I only succeeded once. That person was at ward 13, I don't know if that had anything to do with it.

After boss rush starts the session isn't joinable, you must join at the ward, kinda funny the 1st game had this figured out, was a lobby area for it and you couldn't see games in progress

The epic server finder looks for the closet server and it seems like most people are in Canada or near Canada with this issue, so thats why a VPN is working

Can't play online since today, tried all of the mentioned steps for troubleshooting.
Only thing I've noticed is that I cannot update/install Epic Games Launcher as it shows a connectivity problem right away (yellow triangle symbol with a " ! "). Clicking said icon shows this error in the browser: "Max challenge attempts exceeded. Please refresh the page to try again!"

I can link/unlink my Steam account on the epic website, but clicking "F" ingame to connect to Epic doesn't do a thing

Starting the game on offline mode and switching the game session to public/friends only will always throw me back to the main menu. I also cannot see a single lobby in the "join game" tab

Hey guys, I found an update which finally fixed my problem.

According to @vapid zephyr 's Post #1181215498541740032 message there is an issue with the epic overlay not working with frame gen.

When I was clicking "Link Epic Account" in the main menu, nothing was happening. Disabling Frame Gen actually allowed the browser window for the account connection to pop up. Connected the accounts and I can finally play online again.
Prior to the fix I couldn't see any public lobbies and switching to friends/public session mode from offline would cause me to be thrown to the main menu.

The person unable to join us or get us to join them is from the UK, while USA and NL can play together just fine (sometimes even being routed to eachother while attempting to join the UK friend)

Already tried all of the troubleshooting steps outside of a VPN as that is not a viable solution long term so even if the issue is somehow resolved it doesn't actually fix the problem

The previous issue was on the epic server side, something completely out our hands. The VPN worked because the issue was localized to a specific region's epic server. If there are individuals now still having issues, it's unrelated to the previous issue. There's not much we can offer others than all of the suggestions we have in the technical support channel.

Ok so what is the next step then? i mean the game is giving me some rubbish about a social panel that doesn't open, can't tell what NAT i have despite me having no NAT at all, there is no CG NAT present either and matchmaking to rocket league works flawlessly so i can clearly connect to the epic services

Nope i've dropepd the machine in to the DMZ in order to troubleshoot the issue

Trying to connect to either of my friends sessions results in an immediate "unable to connect" message almost like its not even trying to connect, the windows firewall is disabled so i know thats not the issue, the PC is in the DMZ as mentioned and i have checked to make sure there is no CG NAT present

I attempted to join upwards of 40 games, successfully connected only twice, and one of those two wound up with a disconnect after ~8 minutes.

This has only been an issue since the latest DLC.

Used to be able to join public games just fine.

Have turned firewall on and off. Have UPnP turned on. Have tried with Epic account linked and unlinked. Have tried running as admin and not. Have verified game cache.

I'm also having the same issue as I said on here the overlay just stopped coming up for me one day. I played one night and then went to play the next morning and I had NAT unknown and the overlay would not pop up. Nothing was done in between the two sessions and none of the troubleshooting has worked. I have frame generation turned off everything is up to date and the myriad solutions have not helped.

Well its not account related, atleast not that i can tell, i just created an entirely new steam account and created a steam family so i would have access to the game, this new account has never touched anything EGS related and it still says NAT Unknown and still says the social overlay is a thing

Alright got it working for me. here is what I did most recently and I hope it helps. first I unlinked my epic account from remnant 2. then I uninstalled the game, then I uninstalled Epic fully. next I reinstalled epic then reinstalled remnant. hope that helps and works for others.

Yeah for me the overlay never worked, and i never linked an epic account in the first place, my game is stuck in a strange state where it thinks there is an epic games account linked but also can't seem to connect to the internet at all despite there being no firewall

Well without information like what IP's the game is trying to connect to or at a minimum what actual ports its trying to use for its connections i'm kind of stuck, but that seems to be part of the "black box" networking you use so nobody seems to know how the game actually connects to anyone else

Yes, frame gen is disabled in both the game and at a driver level and yes i tried running the little update thing, the game doesn't use the overlay when launched by steam and even if the overlay did work i don't have an epic games account linked to the game in the first place

Hence me asking multiple times where exactly the game is pulling that information from in the first place so i can check if there is a config file or registry key that is broken somewhere, it has to be polling something to find an epic games ID

cause yesterday he attempted to check this with Family Share - so I asked if i could use that account here to see if it'd also show as linked, - with reasoning if it did, I could actually feasibly unlink it

but also with the suspicion that it'd show a lovely "F" for me instead, meaning that it's not linked- but that it is computer specific in this case; so knowing what it is looking at becomes critical because a value (likely in registry) needs to be set to null or removed entirely
