See below for my helpdesk ticket with ARC gaming who sent me here because they dont know...........
Played the game a few days ago on a family share account(steam) and figured it wasn't saving my game info because its a local save system.
So yesterday I bought the game thru STEAM with 5 hours of playtime already on it. Yesterday and today I spent about 8 total hours troubleshooting, searching forums for answers and break fixing every possible save file location on my machine. I cannot find any .sav files like ARC is telling me to do and I cant spend this kind of time fixing a game that I paid to work. Steam is now refusing to refund my money because Im over 2 hours but its continuing to run that clock up every time I try another fix. If anyone has ideas Ill try what I can but I cant spend hours of my busy schedule attempting to fix this during business hours.
Things I attempted to fix the issue:
Rebooting machine, uninstalling and reinstalling the game on both of my SSDs, pausing my firewall, taking a zip file from a friends game and plugged that into my steam folder. I cannot find any .sav files for the game on my pc, so Im assuming its either a steam files issue or the game isn't generating .sav files or a directory for them at all.

We do not know what could be causing this issue. You can try pausing your antivirus to see if this is interfering with the save process.
We also recommend posting it on the official Discord server in the #1139042187422728192 section to increase visibility as the developers are present there.
