I think there's an elevator with a part that branches off somewhere in the middle as it's rising. Keep a lookout for that path. Either it's that or there is an elevator with another hidden platform above the other that moves at the same time. t that point, activate the first elevator and let it go down and wait for the second one above to come down.

Its the elevator one where u ride it down to a purple then jump back on go up and then jump on and off the elevator and let it go down by itself and another elevator will come down and u take that up i forget what the item is its been a long time since i did that

my friend jumped off that elevator, we already have those rings, this was in a different place. the elevator your talking about is to my left in this pic.
there was no path to get to the ring from that elevator.
