Are you all playing in full screen or windowed or borderless? I noticed the panel doesn't work in windowed for me.

A couple things:

Make sure you have DLSS frame generation set to OFF in the settings (the overlay doesn't work with frame generation)

Update the epic launcher directly. This should be in a file path something like: \Epic Games\Launcher\Portal\Extras\EOSBootStrapper then run EOSBootStrapper.

That message you're getting is a known issue we have with Windows specifically where it lets you know that you've joined your own session, the weird name you're getting is because it thinks you're offline.

one thing i noticed is that file path didn't exist for me till i uninstalled and reinstalled epic launcher i installed epic launcher years ago before reinstalling it

I came here because of the same issue, It was fixed after turn in off the Frame Generation and restart the game, but I want to use the frame generation and play with a friend that is new in the game and he is on Xbox. Kind of sad
