When using bows, regardless of range, the consistency of the arrows hitting their mark is very unreliable. You are firing over the shoulder at an angle, but at a certain distance the arrow should go towards the center of the reticle properly. It does not.

Arrows also constantly phase through smaller targets on online and offline play and is seen best by the various enemies in Losomn.

Your reticle will be red, the enemy will be at ANY RANGE, and the arrow will either fly OUTSIDE of the reticle or PHASE THROUGH the target. This is a major issue with bows and fighting against it constantly is extremely annoying.

When in close quarters, this deviation makes sense. It's a 3rd person shooter and that affects close range, but to have it at EVERY range for projectile weapons does not seem intentional. Perhaps FOV plays a factor into this issue?

That looks like some kind of online descync issue? I've never seen that. I don't use them much but bows are some of the most accurate weapons in the game from what I've seen? Have you ever had this issue while playing solo?

This happens when i play as host with savior too and i think bow mechanism has a bug. Savior has bow mechanism but hit scan weapon . But when i play using savior, releasing trigger when red mark is on will miss shots on enemies especially around head. So i tested it on ward 13 and it hits when red mark is on but not on battlegrounds. Testing bow and guns, i found that guns like widow maker and sure shot has no problem but bows and savoir misses their shot when you release shots around red mark.

It is fine if you play with k & m, but with controller, very very annoying.

Significantly, yes. It almost exclusively happens with smaller targets and also happens offline solo

ALL projectile weapons have this issue, even weapons with fast projectiles like Deceit. Bows just have the most extreme version and can seriously hinder the weapon’s performance, especially for higher difficulties

The issue seems pretty constant regardless of coop, online, and offline

It happens most in Losomn due to the enemy size (so many fae and dran enemies are thin, making the issue much easier to notice. But since so many are stationary before aggro, it can also BLATANTLY show the issue just like in the clip above) but happens everywhere.

The weapons I KNOW that will suffer from this issue are Crescent Moon, Sagittarius, Royal Hunting Bow, Sorrow and Deceit. I haven’t seen it for Merciless but my friend has said it’s happened rarely. We’ve seen some inconsistency with other weapons like the Bolt Driver but we think it might be a separate issue and is more related to typical lag rather than this issue. Savior might do this according to the other commenter but I can’t verify this since I don’t have the weapon yet and can’t test it myself

Thanks for responding to this. Is there any way I can push this up and get it looked at properly? It’s been a massive annoyance since launch and I just want to make sure the devs are aware of it since they’re already hard at work with other fixes and it’s understandable that this might have passed them by still

I would also like to detail that the shot that DOES hit the enemy in the initial clip is in the same spot as a shot that previously misses, moving barely by any pixels

So fun fact but there’s a separate bug that I found and documented with Annihilation that could also be contributing to this

If someone dies in phase one right as you go into phase two it can bug the glitch world hit box and make it impossible to damage Annihilation normally. Also, there’s a major exploit where you can roll off the platform and get under the entire map in the glitch arena which makes you invincible but that’s unrelated

Glad to see some video of merciless with the issue since I haven’t had any to post myself

In the clip you see the bow working perfectly fine suddenly missing several blatant shots on a stationary target that is far enough away to where third-person should not interfere whatsoever

I am probably going to just post addition clips of it as I come across it for further proof and documentation. I really really hope that this is at least acknowledged by the devs sometime soon

That second to last shot really does scream this issue

But there’s also the issue of certain objects and how they interact with projectiles. Bows tend to struggle going through narrower gaps and even ones like the sides of bridges or rails where hitscan/bullet weapons really don’t have that issue

I wonder if this is just the former or a bit of both issues

Projectiles definitely have issues right now. Really hoping for some acknowledgement on the issue but I only posted this like three days ago so unfortunately it’ll probably be a while…

there is an auto targetting going on, try shooting target dummies in the ward when you're way off the target but reticle is still red, from close, from far, on the edge, bow, throwing weapons, hitscan weapons, it's pretty wild, especially on those dummies, not so noticeable on enemies, but it still tends to mess stuff up time to time

it may totally be the case that hitboxes in physical sense may not even exist for enemies, but if they do it would be great to be able to disable that feature

Dont weps in this game have bloom, ive seen this on the mod of cresent arrow that on bow hits a 4.3k (crit + weakspot) and the other 600 xD

it's not about bloom really, they surely do have, but crescent moon has almost none, it's more of a second video issue, i'd rather take a fair hit or miss then hitting stuff center mass while aiming at hawaii

Btw ive also felt that some times i need to aim a bit higher than the head to hit 'em headshot on losson npcs.

it's probably cause projectiles are extra phatt, to ensure that you hit, but it's gets weirder with that auto aim thing, gimme a moment

Yeah, there hasn’t been one yet. But there’s a LOT of reports and it seems to take a few days for them to be able to pour through them. This thread was started about 3 days ago so I’ll give it until a full week before reaching out further

Super glad to get a dev response that this is on the list to be looked at cuz it’s a super big hindrance

Sucks that it isn’t a “it’ll be fixed” response and it’s not guaranteed that this’ll even be fixed at all, but I know there’s a LOT they’re working on. Really hoping that this is fixed. Fingers crossed I guess?

I main bows as well, mainly crescent, so it definitely puts a dent in the fun factor

Rune Pistol has surprised me for Apoc tho so hopefully that’ll tie me over for mobbing until this is hopefully fixed

Try and get clips whenever possible. Although this has been acknowledged by a dev, I want to get as much footage and detail as possible to improve our chances of this actually being fixed since there’s no guarantee on that yet

Thanks for the input - it is reassuring to know it’s an issue faced by several people and isn’t isolated

I’ve been using savior a lot recently and have noticed that it is much more consistent than bows when it comes to issues like this

MAYBE it had something to do with you being so close and it being third-person at an angle… but imo if the reticle is red, it should hit the target. So even if this isn’t a bug here, it should definitely be updated

It’s rarely ever possible for it to be a 3rd person issue. It’s very much something that severely impacts these weapons and is hopefully fixed in the coming updates. Savior doesn’t suffer from it nearly as much thanks to its hitscan nature, but any projectile weapon in the game suffers from this issue to some extent
