#Annihilation Apocalypse battle - FPS and controller input lag

The battle against this last boss on Apocalypse difficulty is just beyond acceptable. Regardless of the difficulty, the arena where Annihilation is offers very very poor unstable FPS performance on the PS5 whether on 30 or 60fps mode. While it is possible to defeat it in lower difficulties, the FPS and controller input lag issues exacerbate the already challenging battle and makes it near impossible to complete. Not because of lack of skills necessarily, but rather because the performance of the PS5 for this particular battle / arena makes it so that one ends up fighting against the performance of the hardware/software rather than the actual mechanics of the game. Have you guys tried your own Annihilation battle on Apocalypse on PS5 in 30fps and 60fps??? If you had, you would know exactly what I'm talking about. On top of all this very poor unstable performance, the reload speed of weapons being so SLOW, combined with having to dodge attacks, dps the boss + aim at the boss while flying everywhere, dps the orange orbs which are constantly moving, fight with the controller input lag, unstable fps + overall poor responsiveness of the system -- all of these factors combined make it so that I feel very very frustrated by this battle for many days now. I have played your lovely game for almost 180 hours, beaten the game on all difficulties, including hardcore on survivor + veteran, and now on my Apocalypse softcore run ... I just simply cannot make any further progress because of technical issues, and also battle mechanic decisions that are beyond my understanding. I'm blocked on Annihilation on Apocalypse. I'd love to play another campaign to try to obtain additional items which are only obtainable during a campaign and NOT during an Adventure mode (because key items disappear in adventure mode). Thus, I can't play the game beyond Adventure mode right now and that's another problem in its own right.

I can confirm that this area is very laggy. I know of one other area that is the same way & it's on N'Erud when you go into the big red hole & get attacked by the -Matrix- enemy high in the mountains. While dropping to the bottom before you reach the glowing purple graviton looking device it'll be very, very laggy there too. Xbox series s.

I absolutely hate the final boss which needs to be addressed.

I’m on Xbox Series S & have experienced button inputs not registering countless times during the play through. Annoying but manageable. However, in the Annihilation battle, absolutely not manageable. It’s straight garbage. Cannot tell you how many times I would have to actually spam reload, weapon swap, use heart, use skill, to get it to work. Even then sometimes just wouldn’t register.

Ha... I like your handle. I agree, many enemies that disappear & reappear are not much fun & create a big lag effect. I too feel cheated most times in fights like that where my character feels like it doesn't know how to do anything right anymore because of lag. I wish games would stop with the magic act of enemies & focus on simple environments so not to cause gaming issues. I don't even like when the second skill of invader phases me from one point to another or makes me jump from an attack with the first skill.

I completely understand why many don't like the final boss. I'm not a fan either & I do hope they fix it. I wish they would also take out the teleportation of enemies as well, but I don't think that'll happen. When the enemy themselves transports, it's easy enough to counter.... But when the games transports us..... That's just annoying.
