2007 s197 ford mustang

My car dosent have any check engine lights and it’s passed inspection but I’m confused as to why my car is so loud when it’s idle. It’s quiet when it’s in park but it’s loud in like drive when I’m not driving.

when you go in drive does the idle rpm go down a lot?

Well that’s the thing I need to get my rpm meter fixed sometimes it works sometimes it dosent

when you go from park to drive how much does it change

also does the car start shuddering a lot in drive?

It pretty quiet when in park like a normal sports car would be but when I do go into drive it’s hella loud. Like it’s heard over my music

a little shaking is normal, my first thought was exhaust leak but that should happen in park too

I’ve never noticed a leak, I can’t really ask my dad because he says it’s normal for a mustang and I doubt that.

It has a low rumble but it’s not loud or anything. Not noticeable while driving if Yk what I mean

its 100% the aftermarket exhaust

idle dips enough when youre in drive to make a droning sound i imagine

idk if yours is v6 or not but thats cheap

I got it recently so I haven’t had time to mod it or anything

and then welding that muffler on would be like 70-90$ id guess

if youre gonna mod it maybe look into other aftermarket exhausts, unless you like it to be quiet

I’m not a fan of the obnoxiously loud sounds that aftermarkets make I don’t like wooden V6’s have an aftermarket muffler because they sound like an angry lawnmower
