I am currently in the process of restoring my Lexus LS430 to mint condition when it comes to the undercarriage / frame, removing all the rust, welding, etc. And i was wondering if anyone has used Hammerite to paint the undercarriage? If so, did it hold up well? / If its not a good idea, any recommendations? I am also planning after coating the whole undercarriage after the paint with some Dinitrol. (wax-based anti-corrosion coating).
Tried to do some research but can't really say i have come to a conclusion.
#Using hammerite paint to use on the undercarriage / frame before undercoating it?

Havent used it. have you searched for it around forums? Just incase I searched for you and it has really bad reviews from others and never seen it used for cars and more on posts or iron fences. try another brand sorry.
I have seen 50/50 on some forums here and there, but i wont take the risk and i think i'll look around for something else indeed.
You mean this?
Could definetly give it a go but don't know how it well it would pair with the wax protection im going to use. As the first coat is kind of an oil coating that eats into existing rust and seals it from mroe oxygen before the waxy undercoating gets sprayed onto the frame.
if you want as well i can ask some friends from a shop for their opinion. I dont really apply undercoating but work my way around rust at most times so i got no definitive opinion

its compatible still. its really penetrating rust-proof ontop of wax.
I would appreciate it if you did, also good to mention i live all the way up North in Norway and they salt the living hell out of roads here 🥲
im in canada. basically same situation
But incase you are wondering, i saw some people mention the use of 2K Epoxy or a 2K Clear coat.
Seems like a lot of people go for it, according to the forums atleast.
are they from winter conditional countries aswell?
i mean its still durable and can withstand cold conditions since its spring you can happily use it since it requires a warm temperature for it to settle well on a car
A lot of them are from the UK, i know they salt the living hell out of the roads there so kind of similar ig.
