Cupra Ibiza 2009 1.4TSI battery theft help

Hi all,
As of recently I have obtained a 2009 Cupra Ibiza from a friend. It had been sat for around 1-2 years due to a fuel pump problem. Upon inspection it turns out someone at an unknown date and time had cut the battery directly out of the cars engine bay, including anything which holds the battery in place. This also includes the thieves ripping the battery connector wires out somehow. How can i get this replaced and how pricey of a job would this be? Thanks all

Photo please, mainly because I am interested why someone would steal a battery… and in stealing it, why they would cut live wiring 😂

I will provide an image soon, honestly so confusing. Maybe their car had died and their only resort was to find a car and rip the battery out
