Anyone got tips for why my car might be fucked up. Lemme preface this with I have tested a lot of things and am about to explain my issue In-depth, 65 ford thunderbird, 390 big block, mostly stock other than some nicer stuff during a rebuild and some suspension. Changed to a msd dynaforce starter because why not, so that’s wired into battery side of remote solenoid and other wire onto starter side. Anyways, car now sometimes doesn’t want to start, it’ll usually 1. Try to fire 2. Turn over for 3-4 seconds 3. Turn over and start like normal. Always in that sequence, now to accompany this my choke might not be activating but I set the fast idle for it and everything at about 1200 Rpm and it seems to work, my main issue is actually that it doesn’t want to return to idle, it’ll almost “stick” open if I even just touch the throttle. And then I can blip it again and it’ll come back, the issue was initially fixed by changing return springs but seemingly that was temporary. I’m lost please help. Also, no my car is not very popular on YouTube and forums are mostly filled with info about how to keep the car completely original and not help with repairs etc it’s very much so a luxury grandpa car not meant to be messed with by me.
#65 Ford Thunderbird start and idle issues

Also sort of related, the idle was turned down but car wasn’t wanting to idle when I went for a drive it kept wanting to die when in reverse so I cranked it up a little bit
The car hasn’t been timed recently and the carb isn’t adjusted completely but it’s pretty close to baseline stuff. So obviously that will affect starting a little bit but I’m more interested in the sticking throttle issue
i mean from me skimming that it sounds like fuel pump/pressure issues, i could be wrong
I would guess that however fuel pump is brand new
it sounds like 1 the fuel pump hasnt pumped enough, 2 fuel is getting there, 3 fuel is there
Also sort of related the issues with starting didn’t happen till like a week after I installed starter
It was starting at the click of a key like a few weeks ago
weird
good brand pump?
Oem
idk then
I thought it was fuel delivery but I’m not certain since once it starts it runs without issue other than the returning to idle
