@fleet flicker actually the vin says otherwise and title
Would it be okay if I ask for the VIN?
Ford would never put 4 lugs on a car with a V8 lol
They put 4 lugs on my six cylinder Mustang, but the 8 cylinders got 5 lugs
Interesting, thank you for the information. I got to look deeper now
@fleet flicker
the biggest engine Pintos got was a v6.
@sharp rapids it was actually custom by Ford I just found out
They were designed to hold one but they didn't get one
Like 3rd gen Firebirds being designed to hold a Pontiac V8 and didn't get one
@sharp rapids it was a custom I ford at the dealership although it's not a factory, it was done by Ford And it was on the mustang platform
Adds to what bingoid and i said
there was no factory v8 Pinto, conversions are different
like the aforementioned dealer shit
was common back then
@sharp rapids so my bad it was not factory unfortunately
Theyll practically drop right in regardless
unless its like
a 385
but squeezing a 385 in practically anything is a trip
easy enough
cleveland might squeeze but a windsor will fit nicely
whichever 351 it is
@sharp rapids probably
That could not fit in a Pinto without extreme modification. Show us the engine bay, please. I know the engine was conveniently taken out, but if you are right there would have to be cut wheel wells, suped-up front springs, and custom engine mounts that a car company would see no reason in making.
Also 351 2V? 4V? Cleveland or Windsor? I don’t know what your brain wants to rewrite this car’s history to have had.
Maybe even give us the VIN
there are enough universal engine mounts out there that is a non issue
people have been modifying pintos for decades
I know there were V8 Pintos that people made with modifications, but this guy is claiming that his Pinto "had a factory V8" for clout.
GG @fleet flicker, you just advanced to level 7! Chat more to level up and earn top roles!
People made V8 Vegas all the time in the 70s
Basically the same thing in my mind. Please give me a single good reason Ford would do a V8 conversion.
It doesn't help their company increase profits in any way.
@fleet flicker was about customers choice not profit
Okay you better learn how capitalism works lol
? nah what
@sharp rapids That's what I was saying
that doesnt answer the question
bro u said nah and i have 0 idea what it was in reference to
lol
Oh talk to him👍😁
???
lol
Look at the brakes. Try putting 600lbs (the weight of a Ford 351) in the front and see if it doesn’t sink to the ground from the weight. Seriously I am unable to comprehend why any Pinto would have 4 lugs and a V8 unless it had Ford’s 1.6 or 2.3 inline 4.
@fleet flicker it had a 289 V8
First it's a 351, now it's a 289.
1: Ford ended production of the 289 in 1969.
2: A 289 weighs 550lb. Try placing 550 lb in your Pinto engine bay. It will not hold up without the suspension being smooshed by the weight of an engine it was never designed for.
Your pinto looks like a 1971-1972 model, due to the absence of side trim, for reference.
I'm excited to see what evasive techniques you use to dodge this proof, @amber swallow .
I don't know where you're getting this stuff if it isn't your own fantasy. A 351 is not a 289. You've changed your story twice, and are likely to change it again.
