2014 Chevorlet Cruze LT
Got a new antenna from a friend who gave me theirs from a 2008 mercury marainer hybrid.
What adapter would work best for the new antenna?

do you mean to screw the antena on the car ?

I needed an adapter for the new one (right)

#

Because its smaller than the original one

I dont know if this posible but jou can cut of the to part and then cut nieuw threads on the bottom part on the photo it looks like the minimum size for cutting threads

Noo i mean that jou can cut of the top part of the threads and make nieuw bigger threads on the lower part

Min showing me where to cut?

He’s saying cut off the threads, then thread the proper size on the shoulder

#

Between the plastic and the thread

#

Assuming the shoulder has a large enough diameter to even do that, seems like a major pain in the rear when you could just got a scrap yard and pull antennas till you find a fit

Want me to show the antenna base?

If you really wanna try finding an adapter, then your going to need to know both thread sizes then try to find a thread adapter them that goes from what you have to what the size you need and it’s gonna look goofy as hell

The cruze has the m6 version, the marainer has somwhat m7?

#

Heres the new antenna slightly fit but dosent screw on.

The Cruz has the larger threads right? Cause id say the Cruz is maybe 3/8th? complete eyeball guess and whatever that marainers is is smaller maybe a 1/4?

#

From the first image I’d say the antenna on the left is 3/8ths and the other is 1/4. pull every damn antenna in the yard if you gotta, who cares just leave the ones you don’t take in the passenger seat or something

Interesting cause 6mm is smaller than 1/4 they’re close but still

#

Either way antennas are cheap, they’re incredibly basic, like $20 max and a scrap yard they’ll be like 5 bucks maybe. Som yards might just let you have it tbh

Idk how reused the antennas are for a Chevy Cruze, you might have to find a cruze in the same year i think it’s like 2010 to 2015 ish or something. You could probably find an antenna off of another car that has the same thread but doesn’t match the car and since there so easy to thread in and out just find one that works at the yard and make sure the radio sounds
