I’ve had an MKZ for a while, i noticed the high beams are halogens and its been bugging me driving a luxury with halogens, i bought Philips H7 (fitting for my car) LED bulbs, when i tried changing the bulb it seems i can’t find the connector, i thought it was directly connected to the halogen since i saw the 2 rods right on the bottom of the halogen bulb, the LEDS have a heat sink, one end to the fan cooling the bulb and the other is the connector, i tried twisting clockwise but it just wouldnt clip, i did end up with an extra METAL bracket splitting the halogen and the connector and was told to use that for the new bulb, except the fan is too big and it seems theres no place for it to clip

i know this is too much text but im kind of lost being the only MKZ '12 owner in my city.

i cant send photos, but the connector is also attached to the halogen, but my led is different

i heard it was possible make the high beams LED on them but i couldn’t tell how.

don't install LEDs, they're basically always not that good unless you get extremely lucky on the housing design

#

they run super hot and all the extra heat sink + fan stuff is causing interference

#

if you really want go with philips xtremevision h7 bulbs

Go with stock bulbs

+1 on stock bulbs, conversions to LEDs usually go poorly and often throw an incorrect lighting pattern, unless you’re swapping the whole headlamp assembly with one designed for the LED bulbs. I’ve had good success with Sylvania Xtravision; they throw a few extra lumens but have good availability, are affordable; and last a while. Get new halogen bulbs in there; then take the time to properly aim your headlights too, you’ll be surprised what a difference this makes.

Although now that I look, I’d expect Philips to actually have properly engineered replacements. What part number did you purchase?
